Impressively, 97% of residents live within just 300 meters of green urban spaces, demonstrating the city's dedication to enhancing urban livability and well-being. 🌊 We're thrilled to share the amazing beach clean-up efforts across Greece in the Adopt a Beach program by WWF Greece. Thank you for supporting the REMEDIES program and the #20TonnesChallenge! Here are some recent highlights: 🌟 Poros Island: The Katheti team collected 30 kilos of plastic and 90 kilos of non-plastic litter with the help of 15 dedicated volunteers. The litter bags were transported back to the port by boat. 🌟 Mykonos and Rinia Islands: An active team managed to collect over 155 kilos of plastic litter and 48 kilos of non-plastic litter within two weeks. The team, consisting of 5-6 volunteers, promised to repeat the clean-ups. 🌟 Kavros Beach, Crete: On June 5, 2024, 30 enthusiastic students and their dedicated teachers from Elementary School Vryses Apokoronou organized a clean-up event. 🌟 Ichthioskala Beach, Chios Island: On June 13, 2024, 24 little volunteers from the 11th Kindergarten of Chios, organized by Kaloupi Georgia, cleaned a 100-meter stretch of beach, collecting 2.7 kilograms of plastic litter and 1.2 kilograms of other waste. Thank you to all our volunteers for your hard work and dedication.
