In E-SPFdigit, UPCT leads the field testing and optimisation of the digital tools in real agricultural environments. It contributes to the validation of onsite technologies, particularly in detecting and quantifying chemical contaminants and monitoring soil health. UPCT focuses on open-field testing at the pilot sites, conducting trials on the effects of pollutants such as heavy metals and pesticides on crops. It is also involved in data collection for AI model training, particularly for agricultural pests and diseases, integrating hyperspectral imaging and other digital tools.
