Through expert presentations, interactive discussions, and collaborative workshops, we aim to deepen the understanding of these pressing issues and inspire targeted action. It’s time to meet the Sustainable Development Unit - ATHENA RC (𝗔𝗥𝗖 𝗦𝗗𝗨), our second EU Climate Partner in #Greece. 🔶 The 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲 (𝗔𝗥𝗖 𝗦𝗗𝗨) was created to address global challenges like #climatechange, #biodiversity loss, and unsustainable resource use. In partnership with RESEES, AUEB, and the SDSN Global Climate Hub, ARC SDU leads initiatives across energy, water, food, and transport systems. Let’s meet #Ecogenia, one of the two EU Climate Pact Partners in #Greece!    📚 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗮 is pioneering a national youth climate corps for Greece. It mobilises and trains teams of young people 18-30 years to address climate needs in vulnerable communities through a paid civic service term, thus priming active citizens who are equipped for the jobs of the future.     🌱 Ecogenia applied to become an 𝗘𝗨 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿 because it is committed to #climateaction. Collaboration and partnerships are key to its success. Ecogenia hopes to create the ripple effects that inspire others to act, thus contributing to the collective goal of accelerating the systemic changes needed to secure a resilient future.     🌍 But what motivated Ecogenia to take action to fight against climate change?  Greek youth, a generation deeply concerned about their future, are watching opportunities slip away as 2030 approaches, feeling angry, anxious, and overwhelmed. Greece faces high youth unemployment rates and lagging in climate resilience, addressing these challenges is essential for societal stability and sustainable development.    What’s next?  📆 This month, Ecogenia celebrates Sustainability Skills and Career Month, emphasising that every job can contribute to climate action.
