🏖️ In the context of #Prosfero project (https://lnkd.in/eHjh9S9n), a joint effort of P&G and AB Vassilopoulos for cleaner #Greek #seas and #coasts, we visited the southernmost island of the #Dodecanese, with its rich maritime tradition and glorious past, #Kassos! Although the island maintains its picturesque charm and tradition, seemingly untouchedby #tourist activities, the marine items removed and documented by the divers during the underwater cleanup, attest thetourism and #fishing activities taking place in its port! Many #plastic and glass bottles, as well as beverage and beer cans that seemed to have been there for a long time, were removed during the underwater cleanup in the port of Kassos. 🤝We warmly thank for their contribution and participation in the action the Municipality of Kassos island and Eco Diving Center!!! 😊#allazoumesinithies with your participation and support! 👉 Find more information about the project and its results here: http://bit.ly/3hqXIvn

#Anchor free meadows! 🛥️#Hydra’s its #maritime tradition, in combination with its #natural beauty and the fact that vehicles are not allowed on the island, make it one of the most popular sailing and #yachting destinations⛵️ 🌿However, the increased tourism of the island, which lacks port facilities to accommodate this amount of boats, ⌛️contributes to the degradation of #Posidonia_oceanica due to the uncontrolled anchoring on the meadows. 🌊Especially close to Hydra’s beaches, that are exclusively accessible from the sea, 📉the meadows are highly fragmented by the anchors and their chains🌱 👉Find more about Posidonia meadows in the area and the threats they face from the available resources created in collaboration with the Municipality of Hydra here: https://lnkd.in/didmQeXT 👉Find more about the project here: https://lnkd.in/d8p9mdkz 🤝#REPOSIDONIA project is implemented by iSea with the support of the Argolic Environment Foundation and the Blue Marine Foundation , and in collaboration with Terra Solutions.

💪We offer cleaner #seas and #coasts in Makronisos, the island that was also a place for exile with its known and unknown historical aspects! 🏖️ In the context of #Prosfero project (https://lnkd.in/eHjh9S9n), a joint effort of P&G and AB VASSILOPOULOS for cleaner #Greek #seas and #coasts, we travel to landmark areas for the history and culture of our country. 🏝️This time we had the honor of being in Makronisos, an uninhabited monument island. We offered a cleaner Makronisos, removing 65 kg of litter items, mainly plastics, like single used plastic bottles #SUPs, that potentially end up in the island through the sea currents and remain on its shore. 😊#allazoumesinithies with your participation and support! 👉Find more information about the project and its results here: http://bit.ly/3hqXIvn Photo credits: iSea/ Hlias Kost

💪We offer cleaner #seas and #coasts in areas of ecological importance, like the uninhabited islets of the Inner #Ionian Archipelago! 🏖️ #Prosfero project (https://lnkd.in/eHjh9S9n), a joint effort of P&G and AB VASSILOPOULOS for cleaner #Greek #seas and #coasts, traveled to the Inner Ionian Archipelago and after Arkoudi islet, this time we cleaned up #Atokos! 🤩The area hosts important megafauna, like #Dolphins, Sea #turtles and Mediterranean monk #seals, #seabirds are found on its islets and their seabed is covered with #Posidonia meadows! 🤜🤛From this little paradise, whose beaches are inhabited only by #Pigs, together with volunteers and Pura Vida Sailing GR we removed 55 kg of litter items, many of which belonged to the equipment of the #tourist boats that visit the area, while others were styrofoam boxes and processed woods. 😊#allazoumesinithies with your participation and support! 👉 Find more information about the project and its results here: http://bit.ly/3hqXIvn

🤿Exploring the underwater beauty of #Erimitis! 🔍iSea continues to document the region's marine life and the research to increase scientific knowledge about the habitats and the species they host, holds new surprises for us! 🪸During our team's last visit to Erimitis, even more #sponges, #corals and #bryozoans were recorded, which are among the most beautiful species that support biodiversity and are a part of key habitats for the area. 🤩We recorded the protected Yellow Tube Sponge, Aplysina aerophoba, but also the Yellow Sponge, Orange-red Encrusting Sponge, the Black Leather Sponge, the Stony Sponge and the Fake Coral, Myriapora truncata, a species of bryozoan. 👉While we had the opportunity to admire the Sunset Cup Coral and Pig-tooth Coral, which are protected by International Conventions. 📋All the new species recorded will be added to the species list for the region that we created in 2023. 📌Find the report 'The Marine Biodiversity of Erimitis' for more on the species and habitats it hosts here: https://bit.ly/3VfiD6d 📌Find out more about our work in the area here: https://bit.ly/3lTwBeq 📷Photo credits: iSea/ Dimitris Tosidis
