Congratulations to PPC Team Greece! For the second consecutive year, PPC proudly supported the National Robotics Team, FIRST® Global—PPC Team Greece, in the World Robotics Competition, the FIRST Global Challenge 2024. This year, the competition took place for the first time in Athens at the Peace and Friendship Stadium (SEF) from September 26 to 29, 2024. The event kicked off with an impressive opening ceremony at the Kallimarmaro Stadium, where more than 15,000 spectators gathered to witness the parade of the teams. We are thrilled that the Greek team secured the 4th place in the world ranking, the highest performance in the history of the event. PPC continues its transformation and remains committed to becoming a catalyst for growth and a vital part of the economic and social fabric in all the countries where it operates, shaping the future of energy. At the same time, PPC is dedicated to fostering opportunities for the next generation by supporting academic and professional development through innovative research programs and initiatives.   Συγχαρητήρια στην ΔΕΗ Team Greece! Για δεύτερη συνεχή χρονιά, η ΔΕΗ υπερήφανα υποστήριξε την Εθνική Ομάδα Ρομποτικής, FIRST® Global-ΔΕΗ Team Greece, στον Παγκόσμιο Διαγωνισμό Ρομποτικής, το FIRST Global Challenge 2024. Φέτος, ο διαγωνισμός πραγματοποιήθηκε για πρώτη φορά στην Αθήνα, στο Στάδιο Ειρήνης και Φιλίας (ΣΕΦ) από τις 26 έως τις 29 Σεπτεμβρίου 2024. Η διοργάνωση ξεκίνησε με μια εντυπωσιακή τελετή έναρξης στο Καλλιμάρμαρο Στάδιο, όπου περισσότεροι από 15.000 θεατές συγκεντρώθηκαν για να παρακολουθήσουν την παρέλαση των ομάδων. Είμαστε ενθουσιασμένοι με την κατάκτηση της 4ης θέσης στην παγκόσμια κατάταξη που εξασφάλισε η ελληνική ομάδα, η οποία σηματοδοτεί την υψηλότερη επίδοση στην ιστορία της διοργάνωσης. H ΔΕΗ συνεχίζει τον μετασχηματισμό της και παραμένει προσηλωμένη να γίνει φορέας εξέλιξης και αναπόσπαστο κομμάτι του οικονομικού και κοινωνικού ιστού σε όλες τις χώρες όπου δραστηριοποιείται, διαμορφώνοντας το μέλλον της ενέργειας. PPC is participating in the innovative research project intelWATT, focusing on the development of research and innovation activities. Recently, the pilot installation for recovering discharge water from the Cooling Tower at Unit 5 of the Megalopolis power plant is completed. The intelWATT research project is funded by HORIZON 2020 and it involves PPC and 19 other European organizations, including universities, research centers, industries, and SMEs. It is coordinated by the Materials and Membranes for Environmental Separation Laboratory of the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at the National Centre for Physical Sciences (NCSF) Demokritos. This initiative is related to the nature positive operations pillar, contributing to the group's ambitions for reducing the use of resources, managing waste, and preserving natural systems. It also contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) #6 Clean Water and Sanitation, #9 Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, #12 Responsible Consumption and Production, and #17 Partnership for the Goals.   Η ΔΕΗ συμμετέχει στο καινοτόμο ερευνητικό έργο intelWATT, στο πλαίσιο ανάπτυξης των δραστηριοτήτων έρευνας και καινοτομίας. Πρόσφατα, ολοκληρώθηκε η πιλοτική εγκατάσταση για την ανάκτηση του νερού απόρριψης από τον Πύργο Ψύξης στη Μονάδα 5 του ΑΗΣ Μεγαλόπολης. Στο ερευνητικό έργο intelWATT, το οποίο χρηματοδοτείται από το πρόγραμμα HORIZON 2020 της Ε.Ε., συμμετέχουν η ΔΕΗ και άλλοι 19 ευρωπαϊκοί οργανισμοί, συμπεριλαμβανομένων πανεπιστημίων, ερευνητικών κέντρων, βιομηχανιών και μικρομεσαίων επιχειρήσεων. Συντονίζεται από το Εργαστήριο Υλικών και Μεμβρανών Περιβαλλοντικού Διαχωρισμού του Ινστιτούτου Νανοεπιστήμης και Νανοτεχνολογίας του Εθνικού Κέντρου Φυσικών Επιστημών (ΕΚΦΕ) Δημόκριτος. Η συγκεκριμένη δράση αφορά στις λειτουργίες με θετικό πρόσημο για τη φύση, επιβεβαιώνοντας τη δέσμευση του ομίλου για μείωση χρήσης πόρων, καθώς και τη διαχείριση αποβλήτων και φυσικών συστημάτων. PPC’s people proudly participated in the 16th Race for the Cure, the world's largest event aimed at raising public awareness of breast cancer, held in Athens by the Hellenic Association of Women with Breast Cancer, Alma Zois On Sunday, September 29, more than 160 employees crossed the finish line of the 5K run and 2K walk to express solidarity and support to the patients of breast cancer and celebrate all the survivors. By participating to the race, we show our full support to the fight against breast cancer and highlight our commitment to health and well-being. PPC focuses on fostering a healthy, supportive, and inclusive environment for its people, encouraging active participation in activities that promote well-being, both physically and mentally. Congratulations to all #RaceForTheCure 2024 participants for supporting this important cause. Every step brings us closer to a cure.  ️ Οι άνθρωποι της ΔΕΗ συμμετείχαν υπερήφανα στον 16ο αγώνα δρόμου Race for the Cure, τη μεγαλύτερη εκδήλωση στον κόσμο με στόχο την ευαισθητοποίηση του κοινού για τον καρκίνο του μαστού, που διοργάνωσε στην Αθήνα ο Ελληνικός Σύλλογος Γυναικών με Καρκίνο του Μαστού, Άλμα Ζωής. Την Κυριακή, 29 Σεπτεμβρίου, περισσότεροι από 160 εργαζόμενοι πέρασαν τη γραμμή τερματισμού του αγώνα δρόμου 5 χιλιομέτρων και του περιπάτου 2 χιλιομέτρων για να εκφράσουν την αλληλεγγύη και την υποστήριξή τους στους ασθενείς με καρκίνο του μαστού και να γιορτάσουν όλοι τις νικήτριες της ζωής. Με τη συμμετοχή μας στον αγώνα, δείχνουμε την αμέριστη υποστήριξή μας στον αγώνα κατά του καρκίνου του μαστού και αναδεικνύουμε τη δέσμευσή μας για υγεία και ευεξία. Η ΔΕΗ εστιάζει στην προώθηση ενός υγιούς, υποστηρικτικού και συμπεριληπτικού περιβάλλοντος για τους ανθρώπους της, ενθαρρύνοντας την ενεργό συμμετοχή σε δραστηριότητες που προάγουν την ευεξία, τόσο σωματικά όσο και ψυχικά. PPC Group announces a Strategic Agreement for the acquisition of 66.6 MW RES in operation and 1.7 GW under development in Greece from the Copelouzos and Samaras groups, which enhances its wind portfolio!   The 66.6MW in operation acquired by PPC Group comprises two wind parks with a total installed capacity of 43.3 MW which recently became operational in South Evia and Lakonia, two areas with high wind potential, as well as PV parks with a total installed capacity of 23.3 MW in operation.   The pipeline of #RES projects under development that PPC has acquired, has a total capacity of 1.7 GW in various licensing stages across Greece, which PPC Group will further develop in collaboration with Copelouzos and Samaras groups.   PPC also acquires the 20% stake held by DAMCO ENERGY of the Copelouzos Group in Ilektroparagogi Alexandroupolis S.A., which develops a CCGT unit (840MW), in which PPC already holds a majority stake (51%), and therefore will hold 71% and statutory majority with the remaining 29% being held by DEPA Supply.   With this agreement, #PPC Group significantly enhances its wind potential.
