New Contract for Z&A On the 10th of February 2025 Z&A’s President and Managing Director Mr Panos Antonaropoulos signed a new contract in the island of Kos in Greece. The objective of the assignment is the study, in detail design, for the construction of the dam of the stream "Mia" for the water supply of the municipality of Irakleidon. According to the feasibility study the Dam will be 22m heigh, homogeneous with a volume of 1,240,000 m3. The project also includes the design of a WTP 5000 m3/day together with water reservoirs.

#NTUA #EDUCATION #CIVILENGINEERING #GEKTERNA On Monday the 9th of December 2024 Z&A's Technical Director Mr Aris Bakalis completed a presentation in the MSc programm of the National Technical University of Athens. The Professional Interdepartmental Master's Program attempts to cover all aspects of the infrastructure and construction sector and aims to highlight not only the technical, but also the economic, environmental, legal and social dimensions of infrastructure and construction projects, from initial planning to their implementation and operation. The programm is funded by GEK TERNA and Mr Aris Bakalis presented findings from Z&A's On Going assigment in Cyprus CONSULTING SERVICES FOR UPDATING THE EXISTING STORMWATER DRAINAGE STUDIES, THE PREPARATION OF BIDDING DOCUMENTS, THE EVALUATION OF TENDERS AND THE SUPERVISION OF CONSTRUCTION OF THE GREATER LIMASSOL AREA. The anti-flood works comprise 20,8 km of drainage system. The pipelines consist of concrete pipes (D500-D1200) of 17.8 km length and box culverts of 3km length. The storm water drainage works comprise the construction of approximately 423 manholes, the connections to the existing drainage system, the construction of drainage gullies and associated pipes and the reinstatement of existing utilities. The contract budget is 16,197,000.00 €.

#DAMS #SUPERVISION #ZAMBIA #CLIMATECHANGE The Work of Design review/update and construction supervision is progressing under the contract CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION OF THE WORKS AT THE EIGHT (08) DAMS AND PREPARATION OF OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE PLANS in Zambia. Z&A reviewed and updated significantly the designs and ensured compliance with the technical specification and design solutions of the works implemented by the contractor as well as adjustment to the specific site conduction in each dam location and use of available materials to provide a sustainable structure. Out of the eight dams, five have finished completely, three have been already handovered to the Districts and the local communities and ceremonies for the handover of the other two are on the way. The works of one more dam will be finished within September while the remaining two will be ready by the end of November when the WB funding will expire. The assignment of IDSP as the implementing project as well Z&A Consulting Engineers as Consultant and AFECC as the Contractor has resulted in a project which was running for ten years without been completed to finish within one year. New Contract for Z&A in Malawi CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR FEASIBILITY STUDY AND DETAILED DESIGN FOR MULANJE AND MOMBEZI DAMS #Dams #malawi #WaterResourcesManagement #ClimateChange Blantyre’s water supply system is under severe strain that is expected to worsen with increasing climate change impacts such as the recent Tropical Cyclone Freddy. Furthermore, the Blantyre Water Board faces major operational and financial challenges which impede the reliable supply of water to the city. Additionally,poor sanitation is a major public health issue such that when the city experiences flooding, uncollected solid waste ends up in sewers, drainage systems and water bodies, further exacerbating the floods and increasing the risk of waterborne diseases. MWSP is therefore designed to address the immediate and medium-term water security and sanitation needs and support a long-term solution through the construction of new water sources, independent power sources for water supply infrastructure, network upgrades and improvement in efficiency, sewerage system upgrades, and solid waste management improvements The project focuses on four components that contribute to the achievement of the Project Development Objectives. The present project deals with the Component 1: Water supply improvements. The main objective of this assignment is to carry out the required designs and investigations for Mombezi and Makuwa Dam project and Mulanje Dam project, developing also Dam Safety Management Plans (DSMP) in line with World Bank requirements.
