📰 AFP journalists Isabelle Wirth and Ivan Fischer were invited by CFI on October 19, to deliver a masterclass on fact-checking and media literacy to 58 young journalists and journalism students from the Western Balkans. The session took place during the Balkan Voices 2 Summer University in Budva, Montenegro.  🔍 Wirth discussed how AFP has become a global leader in fact-checking and its involvement in projects against disinformation, including the European Fact-Checking Standards Network (EFCSN) and the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO) network, with a particular focus on the Croatian-Slovenian hub, Adria Digital Media Observatory / ADMO. During the event, Fischer explored the main narratives circulating in the Balkan region. Drawing on his extensive experience in digital investigations in Croatia, he explained how to verify scientific claims and demonstrated key editorial principles and techniques used in the newsroom. 📷 CFI, agence française de développement médias
