👏 Much Obliged to CSTCB of Hong Kong Police Force!! 📬 Our colleagues from Financial Crime Compliance Team received a compliment from Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) of the Hong Kong Police Force, to appreciate them in providing investigate assistance in an anti-scam operation. 🕵♂️The letter said that FCC team’s efforts had contributed significantly to the success of this operation and prevented further harm done via exploitation of bank accounts. 🆔 Senior Inspector Ng, Sergeant Leung and Police Constable Lee of CSTCB visited Airstar Bank's office and delivered the appreciation letters as well as a wonderful training session to us. The training described latest suspect cases, such as the manipulation of stolen HKID card by Photoshop to deceive the facial recognition system, 😱 which all has increased our vigilance against ever-evolving scams. 🚨 In response to recent incidents in the banking industry involving the fraudulent use of stolen or altered Hong Kong identity cards for remote account openings, we were privileged to host Chief Inspector, Tang from the Commercial Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force for a specialized training session. 🆔 During this enlightening event, Chief Inspector Tang showcased the advanced security features of the new smart identity card. He also revisited the security aspects of the older version of the identity card. 💸 Furthermore, Chief Inspector Tang provided invaluable insights into detecting forged documents and counterfeit currency which are crucial for preventing forgery and verifying the authenticity of essential documents. 📑 Additionally, Chief Inspector Tang offered crucial tips on document verification processes, particularly for Hong Kong identity cards (HKID), emphasizing how to compare documents with reference samples, inspect security features, and handle uncertainties. 👔 This training significantly enhanced our understanding of anti-counterfeiting features in documents, particularly the new and old HKID, boosting our confidence to identify fraudulent documents confidently. 💙A big thank you to Tang Sir for sharing his expertise and helping us stay ahead in the fight against fraud.
