SOCIAL IMPACT I AirTrunk is committed to making a long-term positive social and environmental contribution to our communities. One way we’re doing this is through our ground-breaking social impact program, funded by the margin incentives from our sustainability linked loans.    Key to the success of the program is AirTrunker engagement with our partner charities. Our recent ‘AirTrunk Ignite Your Impact’ event brought our team together with three of our partner charities who inspired us to make a difference to people’s lives in Malaysia, Australia and Japan by pledging our support to the causes closest to our hearts.    AirTrunk’s VP Marketing and Corporate Communications Lise Kay, whose team leads the social impact program said: "Employee engagement is a fundamental part of our social impact program, and that’s what the Ignite Your Impact session was all about. SUSTAINABILITY I AirTrunk has launched our FY24 Sustainability Report, with our commitment to ‘catalyse change’, this year’s report theme.     The Sustainability Report spotlights our continued progress on the energy transition and net zero commitment, as we continue to work closely with our customers to match 100% of electricity consumption at all our sites with renewable energy by 2030.    We’ve also introduced the Embodied Carbon Ratio, a new internal metric designed to help drive impactful decarbonisation efforts. The report features a Q&A with Chief Development Officer Paul Slaven, with insights into the metric's importance for the future of the built environment.    In parallel, the FY24 Climate & Nature Risk Report builds on our sustainability efforts with an ambitious alignment to the IFRS S2 and TNFD requirements. LIQUID COOLING REPORT | As the pioneer of hyperscale data centres in APJ, following five years of R&D, AirTrunk also pioneered large-scale liquid-cooling innovation in the region, able to support tens to hundreds of megawatts including AI deployments. With significant investment in resources, research, technology development and solutions, AirTrunk achieved its first deployment of 20MW of liquid-cooled capacity, in Malaysia this year. Liquid cooling can help realise significant energy savings and ensure AirTrunk continues to provide industry-leading PUE performance for our customers in tropical APJ climates. EMPOWERING AUSTRALIA’S DIGITAL FUTURE | A new report by economics consultancy Mandala unpacks the essential role and contribution of data centres in Australia, with some powerful findings. The Empowering Australia’s Digital Future research report confirmed:  1. Data centres are essential – enabling our modern digital lives and the Australian digital economy by empowering innovation, jobs, essential services and the clean energy transition.  2. Data centre investment is growing – bringing an additional $26 billion in investment over the next 5 years.  3. Data centres need skilled workers - with Australia’s data centre workforce needing to double by 2030 to meet this growth.  4. Data centres are energy efficient – by aggregating the compute processing and energy demands of digital services, they use around 67% less energy compared to on-premise servers.   5. Data centres are catalysing the energy transition – with major operators committing to matching power use with 100 per cent renewable energy by 2030, through renewable power purchase agreements. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE I AirTrunk’s Vice President, Customer Solutions Luca Melluso took part in the ‘Synergizing Innovation: Australia and Singapore Leading the AI Revolution’ main stage panel at Tech Week Singapore. Joined by fellow panellists Dr Liming Zhu from CSIRO's Data61; David Masters from Atlassian; Chris Levanes from Telstra and moderator Helen Oh from Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), the discussion included topics such as the rising use of AI and how this trend is shaping the future of data centres and the role hyperscalers play. The importance of innovation and collaboration to scale solutions that lead the industry to a sustainable, low-carbon future was also discussed. INDUSTRY TRENDS I AirTrunk Chief Customer & Innovation Officer, Damien Spillane joined the ‘Data Centre Landscape & Global Trends: Is APAC Keeping Up?’ panel at Data Centre World Asia in Singapore. The discussion included global trends impacting future opportunities in the APAC region, and a look at AI and the differences between Europe and APAC, with a focus on Singapore.      On the topic, Damien said: “We are at an inflection point in the industry – our customers are the best and smartest in the business, and they are currently figuring out what AI looks like at an infrastructure and data level. SUSTAINABILITY RECOGNITION | AirTrunk is honoured to be recognised as one of the winners at the 2024 Singapore Apex Corporate Sustainability Awards, taking home an award in the Sustainable Business Category (non-SME). Presented by the UN Global Compact Network Singapore, this award is one of the most prestigious for corporate sustainability, setting a benchmark for excellence in the field.   AirTrunk’s AVP Sustainability, Jennifer Zheng, said: “This recognition is a testament to the tangible steps AirTrunk is taking to drive meaningful change for our stakeholders, business, and the broader industry.
