About us

Babington Education is one of the largest English language learning centres in Hong Kong in terms of centre network market share. We teach English to children from 3-12 years of age. We are Hong Kong’s largest provider of Ruth Miskins's Read Write Inc. (RWI) phonics programme published by Oxford University Press. All Babington teachers are native English speakers who are trained and certified by Ruth Miskin Training (UK), the official training company of Ruth Miskin, the author of the RWI programme. We are a band of dangerously good teachers who have refined our craft to the point where we can accurately predict a child's learning path by month. Simply put, we can predict exactly when one of our students will start to read and write...down to the month. We are disrupting early childhood education in Hong Kong with our proven teaching methods and our outrageous dedication to delivering concrete results over a fixed time period.

Education has always been a cornerstone of personal and professional development, and recent news about the UK government's decision to impose VAT on private school fees starting January has stirred considerable discussion. 📚✨ In our ever-evolving educational landscape, this policy shift brings forth several implications worth delving into: 1. **Financial Repercussions for Families**: With the addition of VAT, many families might reassess their private school choices due to increased financial burdens. This could potentially widen the gap between public and private education sectors. 2. **Impact on School Enrollments**: Private schools may witness a shift in enrollment patterns as families look for more affordable alternatives. This change could drive some institutions to revisit their fee structures or widen scholarship offerings to remain competitive. 3. **Public School Capacity**: An influx into public school systems, spurred by families moving away from private schooling, could put further pressure on already stretched public education resources. This calls for a holistic approach to address capacity and quality concerns within the public sector. 4. **Educational Accessibility**: The VAT imposition may inadvertently spotlight the broader issue of educational equity. Quality education should be accessible to all, irrespective of economic background. This could pave the way for more robust discussions about how alternate programs can support diverse learning needs. 5. **Potential Rise in Alternative Education Solutions**: As families explore different educational pathways, there might be a growing interest in supplementary programs that ensure comprehensive learning. For instance, programs like our own English Ladder or Read Write Inc. cater to foundational aspects of language learning for young learners, providing essential skills without the hefty fees of traditional private schooling. In connecting these trends back to the industry, it is essential to consider how educational entities can adapt to support parents and students in these changing times. Collaborative approaches, scholarship opportunities, and innovative learning solutions can bridge the gap and sustain educational excellence. We would love to hear your thoughts on how this VAT implementation might shape the future of education. What proactive steps can educational institutions take to mitigate the potential challenges? Let's discuss and collectively innovate for a brighter educational future. 🌟💬 #EducationTrends #PolicyImpacts #InnovativeLearning #EquityInEducation

In a rapidly evolving job market, ensuring our future workforce is equipped with the necessary skills is paramount. A recent report by Forbes highlights a striking projection: 85% of good jobs in 2031 will require postsecondary education. As someone deeply rooted in the education sector with Babington Education, I find these insights both intriguing and a call to action. Our integrated English programmes, such as the English Ladder (https://lnkd.in/gBbvfvAV) and Read Write Inc. Early Skill Development: The shifting job landscape underscores the importance of building robust foundational skills early on. Our programs at Babington Education are aimed precisely at this, ensuring children as young as 3 years old are on a strong learning trajectory. 2. Strategic Partnerships This trend suggests a growing need for educational institutions to collaborate with businesses and policymakers. By aligning curricula with future job requirements, we can ensure that students are not only well-educated but also job-market ready.
