Repair Services always contribute to better sustainability and at BSH HK, our CS team and Technicians are the pillar to enable every repair works. Going to a customer's house to repair any goods is not easy, not to mention carrying some heavy parts, even not to mention the rainy and hot weather in Hong Kong and the distance so on. BSH HK and ALBA IWS: Continuing Our Partnership with An Innovative Sustainability Initiatives We are excited to share with you our latest sustainability initiative in Hong Kong, a significant leap in our ongoing journey to improve the quality of life at home – our purpose of driving sustainability. On April 26, we kicked off an innovative volunteer activity that epitomizes our commitment to sustainability at a local level. In collaboration with ALBA Integrated Waste Solutions (HK) Ltd., our partner since 2018 for comprehensive waste management and recycling services, we have stepped up our efforts this year. We organized a workshop to donate Bosch appliances to the residents of a transitional social housing project. Not only were these appliances gifted, but they were also utilized in the preparation of delicious meals, showcasing their practicality and efficiency in everyday use. Here's a snapshot of what we achieved during the workshop:- Raising Sustainability Awareness: We aimed to heighten the understanding of sustainability and environmental protection among participants, inspiring them to adopt sustainable actions in their daily routines to safeguard the environment and foster sustainable development. Encouraging Green Cooking: Participants were taught how to cook delectable meals in an eco-friendly manner during the cooking workshop. This included selecting organic, local, and seasonal ingredients, minimizing food waste, and using green cooking tools and techniques. Inspiring Green Living Habits: Through an engaging electricity safety game and the distribution of environmental materials, we aimed to instill in participants the importance of energy conservation and safe electrical appliance usage. We also encouraged them to embrace sustainable consumption and lifestyle habits. These initiatives are a testament to our unwavering commitment to enhancing the quality of life at home and building a sustainable future. Actually our technician team in Hong Kong also travels a lot to serve our customers. It may not be as hard during the chilly times in winter, but when it’s in summer under the hot sun, it’s totally another story. A shout out to our outreaching teammates!
An astonishing 150 million is the number of kilometers our BSH service technicians clocked in 2023 alone. Let’s put this in perspective: On average, each technician circles the globe once a year. This equals • navigating the Amazon River six times, or • crossing the Sahara Desert eight times, or • traveling to the moon – but only covering ten percent of the distance, because the moon is really far away. Also, this kind of trip is neither recommended nor necessary, as there are no home appliances in space (yet). Moreover, spaceships are not yet part of our vehicle fleet. And can you imagine troubleshooting in zero gravity and losing a screw in the endless space? 😉 Let’s get serious with some more fun facts: • Last year, our southernmost service technician visit took place in New Zealand, specifically in the remote Hakataramea Valley, Cattle Creek, in the Lakes District of the South Island. • Our northernmost adventure took a technician on a 335-kilometer trip (one way!) though the rugged terrain of the Arctic circle, to the fishing village of Kjøllefjord in Northern Norway, to fix a tumble dryer. Also, our technicians utilized 10.5 million spare parts, ensuring that each repair meets and exceeds our high standards of quality and longevity – and extends the lifetime of each appliance. There’s one more extremely important number we’re especially interested in and would love to share with you – but we can’t because our technicians don’t track it: The number of liters of coffee they drink throughout the year.
