Just as we wrapped things up in New York City, good news travelled from Hong Kong. The long awaited results of the Hong Kong Green Tech Challenge are finally here. To ensure we are bringing innovative solutions with the best fit for Hong Kong real estate’s decarbonisation needs, the Challenge applicants made it through rounds of rigorous vetting process and virtually met with our Corporate Partners, Strategic Partners and Expert Panelists. Today, we congratulate the eight finalists who will be embarking on a journey to Hong Kong for the closing event and to work on their solutions with our partners. We are excited to be organising a very special event during the New York Climate Week on September 24th. After an outstanding experience in Dubai during COP28, the Climate Leaders’ Assembly is organised this year in New York as the result of a collaborative effort between a powerful set of partners and allies. The Assembly is co-hosted by Bain & Company, GenZero and National Climate Change Secretariat, Singapore, organised by Carbonless Asia in catalytic partnership with Google and Temasek. The event is set to bring innovative projects and regional insights from Asia to the global stage through the resources, ideas and solutions represented by the event’s outstanding participants. A diverse group of 100 leaders has been handpicked to join a series of intimate discussions in a special unconference format, designed to drive real climate action in a safe and inspiring environment. Minister Grace Fu will open the Assembly with a keynote, followed by a panel featuring Ravi Menon, Frederick Teo, Amy Merrill. The opening session sets the tone for the Assembly’s signature catalytic breakout sessions on Carbon Markets, Energy Transition, Green & Sustainable Finance, and Emerging Technologies. These sessions, following Chatham House Rule, are catalysed by industry experts such as Google’s SVP for Sustainability Ben G., Temasek’s Vice Chair for Sustainability, Steve Howard and many others.
