【CLP Showcases its EV-olutions with Industry Partners at ReThink HK 2024】 For the first time, CLP and its “eMobility Network” partners teamed up to join ReThink HK 2024 Sustainable Business Forum and Solutions Expo on 12-13 Sep and showcased the latest evolutions at “All In For EV. All In For Green.” Pavilion. Visitors learned about the latest technological advancements and applications, as well as our innovative power supply solutions for the EV market, including outdoor substations and new high voltage (HV) pillars. More, we launched our eMobility Grid Management Platform (eGMP), a self-developed initiative to analyse EV charging data in support of the expansion of the EV charging network. In addition, members of the eMobility Network presented state-of-the-art commercial EVs and associated equipment, introduced a range of new charging technologies and green financial support services to help support Hong Kong in becoming a low-carbon smart city. 【ReThink HK 2024】 In the next two days, experts from CLP look forward to sharing their insights on business sustainability and decarbonisation at the ReThink HK 2024 conference in Hong Kong. Tomorrow (12 September), Director – Group Sustainability Hendrik Rosenthal will join a panel discussion on mandatory disclosure requirements for climate risks and opportunities to be adopted by corporates in Hong Kong. The Climate Governance Initiative Hong Kong Chapter will also be hosting a workshop (https://lnkd.in/gCny-rf8) at ReThink HK, and CLP’s Chief Strategy, Sustainability and Governance Officer David Simmonds will be joining a panel on empowering board level executives to integrate climate governance into their business strategies. In a panel discussion on green energy transition, Senior Director – Planning & Development Jim Taylor will be speaking about CLP’s efforts in catalysing the decarbonisation of Hong Kong’s energy sector and the importance of lower-carbon energy technologies. Deputy Director – Business Sales KO Wong will also discuss CLP’s role in supporting property managers in Hong Kong to lower carbon emissions through retrofitting and other services, in a panel discussion on decarbonising existing buildings. 【Feature Stories on 30th Anniversary of Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station – Dr Luk Bing Lam Strives to Advocate Nuclear Energy Through Public Education】 Dr Luk Bing Lam, Chairman of Hong Kong Nuclear Society and former Deputy Director of CLP Power Low Carbon Energy Education Centre, shared in a recent media interview the importance of promoting nuclear energy as a means to combat climate change. He noted a positive shift in public perception towards nuclear energy in Hong Kong in the past years and attributed that to continuous public education and 30 years of safe operation of the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station. Dr Luk introduced the Bachelor of Engineering in Nuclear and Risk Engineering programme of the City University of Hong Kong which nurtures professional talents for the nuclear energy industry. CLP Graduate Trainee Eric Lee who studied the programme also shared his aspiration of becoming a nuclear expert in the future. 【CLP Power Collaborates with HIT to Build a Green and Smart Port】 CLP x Hongkong International Terminals Limited (HIT) collaborated to have a media briefing showcasing our joint efforts on promoting decarbonization and build a Green and Smart Port to enhance the competitiveness of the maritime and port industry in HK. The media briefing was held at HIT to demonstrate how CLP collaborated with HIT on decarbonization journey through electrification, application of renewable energy and improvement of energy efficiency in building. CLP utilizes the energy management expertise to support HIT in long-term electrification through providing carbon emission analysis and technical advice to optimize the existing power network for the additional power to support the electrification. We also highlighted our joint effort on solving the technical challenges for the installation of Solar PV on the 52-meter quay crane.
