💡In 2023, FSI’s Community Business Support team introduced the Community Business Internship (CBI) Program aimed at empowering ethnically diverse youth to become future leaders and business consultants. 🤝🏽 In addition to offering youth hands-on training in entrepreneurship and career development, the CBI Program also enables them to build essential human and workplace skills by providing direct business support to grassroots and socially impactful businesses in Hong Kong. In 2019, Abdullah came to Hong Kong from northern Pakistan to pursue his master’s degree. and started working in the hospitality and tourism industry after completing his studies. 💡Noticing the limited dining options in the Kwai Chung district, he decided to start his own restaurant, The Habibi Kitchen, with a menu of diverse, halal-certified dishes to cater to the varied tastes of the Kwai Chung community. Moving with his family from Pakistan to Hong Kong in the early 2000s, Ali Mussa initially worked in labor-intensive jobs, until he decided to bring his family-owned restaurant, Zaitun, to Hong Kong. 🍲 Offering an authentic Pakistani "dhabba" experience, a roadside restaurant experience that is typically inexpensive and has a "homemade" feel to it, Zaitun opened its doors on New Year’s Eve 2023 in Jordan, serving a delightful fusion of Mediterranean and South Asian cuisines.
