In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month 2024, with the theme of Pioneers of Change, fresh partnered with our sister brand, MAKE UP FOR EVER, to highlight some of our very own pioneers and voices from the Hispanic and Latinx community. Juliana Hendershot, VP, Global Consumer Marketing, and Mario Carrion-Ruiz, Senior Manager, Visual Merchandising and Store Design, represented fresh, and EDDIE DUYOS, Sr. Manager, Pro Artistry, Product Co-Creation and Dulce Duran, VP NA Marketing and Operations represented Make Up For Ever by sharing their career journeys, and how they amplify and celebrate their identity through the work they do every day. We concluded the morning by networking over coffee and treats, all supplied by local Latinx vendors: Nadas Empanadas and Héctor Carvajal at Don Carvajal Café. Our fresh Europe team took the opportunity to put this core value into action through their first annual “Weekare”, a week dedicated to giving back to their community through food distribution and workshops at a senior living facility. As we visit #fresharoundtheworld, our Travel Retail APAC team held their fresh Beauty Indulgent Experience seminar for Travel Retail APAC Beauty Advisors in Vietnam! With the event theme, “Fresh Power, Together We Make a Difference 因为有你,我们同心共赢”, one-hundred and twenty Beauty Advisors came together to share, learn and celebrate milestones! Throughout the three days, Beauty Advisors heard from the Travel Retail leadership team during strategic plenary sessions, wellness workshops, brand story workshops and fun-filled team-building activities. A highlight was the sensorial garden themed gala dinner presenting the spectacular Beauty Advisor performances in their first-ever ‘fresh Got talent’ competition. In 2020, fresh committed to celebrating our brand anniversary as a global day of DEIB, ensuring we are fostering DEIB in all that we do. Last week, fresh held our fourth annual DEIB Day Celebrations to reaffirm our dedication to celebrating diversity, pursuing equity with intentionality, and practicing inclusion to create a space where everyone feels they truly belong. As DEIB is embedded globally, we kicked off with our global markets showcasing their programs fostering belonging through events such as: heritage month celebrations in North America, International Women’s Day Panels in Travel Retail/APAC, a partnership with Harrods for Pride month in the UK, Building Belonging brainstorm sessions in Korea, and surveys to strengthen a feedback culture in China. Additionally, our HQ and North America Corporate populations, together as one in NYC, held a session on intersectionality and the importance of authenticity at work. Underlining the courage it takes to be ourselves in a professional setting, we explored the benefits of bringing our unique perspectives and life experiences to our collective table. It wouldn’t be a celebration at fresh without finding ways to connect, and we closed out our DEIB week with our Summer Party which included honoring our LVMH tenure award recipients - a perfect way to celebrate our talents after a day focused on personal growth and understanding! In celebration of Pride Month 2024, we highlight two members of our fresh family who led impactful events this month by uniting our teams and bringing to life our core value of Passionate Integrity. At fresh, we define Passionate Integrity as: Taking ownership of our actions and our impact, choosing courage over comfort, and using our authentic voice to do the right thing for our people, our brand and the community. In the UK, our Head of Education for the UK and Europe, Caglar Odabasi , represented fresh in partnering with the Harrods LGBTQIA+ Network to host an empowering Pride panel and masterclass designed to help guests love the skin they’re in - discussing skin, body and soul - and learn hints and tips for boosting skin and confidence. In asking Caglar how leading in this event furthered the fresh core value of Passionate Integrity, he shared “At fresh we stand up for what we believe in and we are passionate to share it with the world. I have always felt that the diversity and individuality were always welcome during my 20 years at fresh. Sharing my own experiences and representing fresh in this event was a true example of this and I felt honoured.” In New York City at fresh HQ, our Director of Global Communications, Kyle Schaffler partnered in leading an energizing event with Drag Trivia, a Drag Show as well as Drag Q&A for a moment of learning, reflection and celebration. Kyle shared how he connects his work to Passionate Integrity: “I’ve had the opportunity to celebrate three Prides at fresh. Using this platform is not just a celebration but also demonstrates fresh’s continual commitment to people. In essence, each of our Pride events is a testament to fresh’s steadfast dedication to doing what is right, both within our internal community and in the broader context in which we operate. The Fresh Europe team is delighted to share their annual “Fresh Day”, celebrated last week! This year featured two great events: The team participated in a "Climate Fresk" workshop which highlighted environmental challenges and sharpened ecological awareness on both a professional and personal level. Additionally, the team hosted a corporate "Olympics", in anticipation of the 2024 Olympics taking place in Paris.
