They engaged in conversations and took photos with over a hundred attendees, creating a lively atmosphere! The film draws inspiration from a series of investigative reports by HK01 in 2016, focusing on the trafficking of electronic waste and toxic marine garbage. At that time, HK01 collaborated exclusively with an American environmental organization to track the global flow of electronic waste, exposing the illegal dismantling of electronic waste at recycling plants in the New Territories and the daily accumulation of thousands of tons of toxic electronic waste from across the Pacific in the New Territories area. The event was graced by Professor Sun Dong, JP, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, as the guest of honor, delivering a speech. In Professor Sun's address, he emphasized that Hong Kong is an integral part of the Greater Bay Area development, urging contemplation on how to achieve interconnected innovation and co-creation with sister cities in the Greater Bay Area through the development of innovation and technology, driven by talent to propel technological and industrial advancement. The theme of this year's seminar was "Industry-Academia-Research Integration: Hong Kong's Role," with Ms. Irina Fan, Director of Research of Hong Kong Trade Development Council, once again serving as the guest moderator. The interactive discussions involved three seminar speakers: Mr. Duncan Chiu, Member of Legislative Council of HKSAR, Chairman of Research, Academic and Industry Sectors One-plus Scheme, Professor Qin Lin, Dean of CUHK Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Institute (Futian), and Mr. Kyran Sze, Honorary President and Convenor of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao-Bay Area Economic And Trade Association. During the seminar, the speakers highlighted that the current stage of innovation and technology development in Hong Kong is at a nascent phase, necessitating gradual reinforcement of its weak areas, with the government's leadership role being indispensable. Furthermore, they noted that companies may not solely remain in Hong Kong for development but may also expand to other cities in the Greater Bay Area, emphasizing the importance of collaboration with the Greater Bay Area to provide development incentives. An international research institution recently released this year's global workplace report, revealing that approximately 41% of employees worldwide experience daily stress, showing a decrease of 3 percentage points from the previous year. However, when comparing regions, the stress rate in Hong Kong stands at 49%, surpassing that of Japan and South Korea. The report also compared workplace stress and negative emotional indices among remote work, on-site work, and hybrid work models. Among different universities, graduates from the University of Hong Kong command the highest salary expectations, followed by graduates from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
