To further raise community awareness about intestinal health, Hong Kong Adventist Hospital—Stubbs Road held a health seminar titled " Learn More About Hernia and Colon cancer " at Leighton Hill on October 23. During the event, Consultant Surgeon Dr. George Yang explained the causes of hernia and important surgical considerations. Additionally, he discussed the causes of colorectal cancer and emphasized the importance of regular colonoscopy screenings to reduce the risk of developing the disease.   The event concluded successfully yesterday, with residents actively asking questions during the seminar. On the event day, our cardiologist, Dr. Lo Ka Yip, David, shared knowledge about heart health. The event was a great success and well-received by the community. HKAH-SR Media Interview Recap [HKCSS]: [Cross-Professional Collaboration in Hospitals Helps ‘Ground’ Nutritional Care] Proper care and nutrition for patients is extremely important for their health, so our hospital has assembled a cross-professional, cross-departmental team to collaborate, including: different medical specialists, nurses, speech therapists, dietitians, chefs, dietitian assistants, and IT staff. This team has successfully implemented the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) across various departments in the hospital. IDDSI is a globally recognized definition of food texture and liquid consistency. The framework divides food and drinks into 8 levels. Hong Kong Adventist Hospital – Stubbs Road is the first and only hospital implements the system. IDDSI allows medical staff, speech therapists, nutritionists, caregivers and care recipients to have a common language, making it easier to choose foods with the right texture. In situations where the patient's condition improves or deteriorates, being able to adjust the diet levels up or down provides more guidance for healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers to choose safe foods. [HKAH Inter-hospital Badminton Competition 2024 ] HKAH Inter-Hospital Badminton Competition 2024 has been successfully held on 30 June. First of all we would like to express our gratitude to all the participating colleagues. The competition had Men’s single, Women’s Single, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, Mixed Doubles. The participation rate was extremely high compared with previous years. During the competition, all players competed in full efforts to achieve the best possible results.
