We're thrilled to announce the successful completion of our Referee Training Camp 2024 and Annual Referee Conference 2024 this August at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Kowloon East, Hong Kong. We had the honor of welcoming Mr. Mike Riley, Director of Referees of the Irish Football Association, as our esteemed instructor for the training camp. His expertise brought invaluable insights to our participants. Following the success of the first season using VAR in the Hong Kong Premier League, this event provided a unique opportunity for referee instructors, assessors, and referees to enhance their case knowledge and sharpen law enforcement skills. Breaking new ground in Hong Kong's football scene! We're thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of the first-ever AFC/ HKFA Goalkeeping B Coaching Certificate Course in Hong Kong! With 15 participants, including our Senior Men’s team captain and other goalkeepers from the Hong Kong Premier League and Women's Football League, this training has truly been a transformative experience for all involved.   The training focused on goalkeeping performance analysis, youth development, and psychological coaching techniques. Through these comprehensive modules, the participants were able to enhance their skills and gain valuable insights into the art of goalkeeping.   The participants have unanimously praised the course for its insightful content and its ability to improve their understanding of defending set plays as a team, rather than just as individual goalkeepers. They have noted that this approach requires teamwork, effective communication, and strategic thinking, which are all crucial elements of successful goalkeeping.   Our international participants from Macau and Taiwan have expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of this training, allowing them to participate and learn from experienced professionals in the field.   We would like to congratulate all the participants for their dedication and commitment throughout the training. Kicking off July with incredible news!   We are delighted to share our U23 football team who have made it to the 2023 Asian Games' semi-final for the first time will receive the Hong Kong Sports Institute’s Elite Training Grant in recognition of their outstanding performance. The Elite Training Grant came under the Individual Athletes Support Scheme, where all candidates will received a monthly funding for two years. They will also be entitled to sports science/medicine, strength and conditioning and other scientific support; and education/ career counseling.   This marked the first time since 2009 that football players in Hong Kong have received this remarkable support.   Join us in celebrating this dual success – nurturing our talented employees and supporting our elite athletes. It’s An Unprecedented Victory in Women's FA Cup Final!   Yesterday's Jockey Club Women's Football League FA Cup final showcased an exhilarating clash between Chelsea FC Soccer School (HK) and Kitchee. In a fierce battle of skills and determination, Chelsea FC Soccer School emerged triumphant with a 1-0 victory over Kitchee. This also marked the first-ever implementation of the VAR system in a women's match in Hong Kong. A great testimony of our relentless pursuit of gender equality, the empowerment of women in sports, and the breaking down of barriers to create a more inclusive world for women in football.
