Better immune health for patients, medical providers and society.

About us

Imunis is transforming how we record, track and share immune health data. Vaccines are a foundational area of preventative health and of huge value to our world. They work best when taken at the right time, and the right time varies as diseases change, new vaccines are developed, and we learn more about our health. Imunis is a platform enabling us to optimize our immune health. The Imunis App is an interoperable vaccine wallet, allowing patients to capture records of each of the vaccines they take during a lifetime, and know their immune health status at any given time, even as the recommendations change. The Imunis Clinic Portal connects to medical records systems and provides a digital patient status for health providers by maintaining the latest recommendations in digital format, saving health providers valuable consultation time and improving the quality of consultation. The Imunis Schools Portal enables families to share the right vaccine record data with education providers, making it easier, safer and more cost-effective for families and schools to minimise the risks of infectious disease outbreaks. Imunis Digital Schedules and Content provides the latest global vaccine recommendations in digital format & local language, enabling digital health providers API access to current content to power their digital health solutions.

Real-world data from high-quality studies continues to show the enormous power of the #HPV vaccine in preventing cervical (and increasingly, other) cancers, and in its safety. Yet we continue to see unacceptably low vaccine uptake even in high-income settings, where cost/supply is not a key part of the problem. Imunis was fortunate enough to work with the Eureka Consulting Group team at Hong Kong University recently, whose research with a representative student group highlighted a few important insights: - Nearly 80% of the eligible students surveyed do not think they had been vaccinated against HPV - Lack of time and lack of information were the top 2 self-reported reasons  - 87% use paper vaccination records and almost 60% were unsure of their vaccination status/had to do some work to find out - 76% find it ‘difficult’ to keep up-to-date with vaccination recommendations  - Respondents recognised a connection between HPV and cervical cancer, but it was blurred with a level of misunderstanding (not necessarily 'mis-information'). Decisions to vaccinate & immunization programmes are complex, and while this article focuses on Hong Kong, the problem is not unique to Hong Kong. But this highlights the potential cognitive burden of navigating the space for patients. Hong Kong has a strong healthcare system on the surface, but it’s expensive & faces the globally-familiar challenges of aging population and shortage of healthcare workforce. Prevention has to be a cornerstone for the future. Which means data like this has to change.  The great work of organisations such as The Karen Leung Foundation has moved the dial on HPV vaccination in Hong Kong, but we need to make it easier; we need more schools & educational establishments to take part in these programmes; we need parents to receive the right information at the right time (prompts as well as medical information); we need vaccination status to be an easily-retrievable data point for everyone; we need the true value of this vaccine, and the potential costs of not taking it, to be understood.
