  • AI is rapidly evolving from ChatGPT and AI agents to the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which acts like a USB-C port for AI agents, offering a standardised way to connect different AI systems to external applications and data sources. Unlike traditional API, MCP enables plug-and-play scalability for integrations and supports real-time communication. Recent use cases have demonstrated the power and flexibility of MCP in enhancing AI interactions. More about MCP: https://lnkd.in/dwhFsrNX #Innovation #Technology #AI #AIAgents #MCP

Anthropic ($62B) wants to bridge AI and the real world. "MCP" might be the key, why it matters: [Great visual by Norah Klintberg Sakal] 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀: - Imagine AI models like smartphones without internet—powerful, but disconnected from real-time data. - MCP is like Wi-Fi for AI, giving models instant access to databases, APIs, and files - without custom integrations. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: - AI today is blind—it can’t access live data unless manually connected. - Companies use RAG to retrieve info, but it’s messy & fragmented. - MCP solves this by creating a universal plug-and-play system—AI asks, MCP fetches. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀: - Hosts: AI models (like Claude) needing external data. - Clients: Connectors inside the AI that request data. - Servers: Middlemen fetching & delivering data from APIs, files, or databases. Instead of building custom integrations for every system (Slack, GitHub, Postgres), MCP offers one standard interface—just like Wi-Fi works across all devices. 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀: - Adoption: Will companies embrace it? - Security: How do we prevent unauthorized AI access? - Performance: Can it scale across industries? 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀: - MCP-powered AI copilots: AI that dynamically pulls company data. - Industry-specific MCP servers: Tailored integrations for healthcare, finance, etc. - AI security layers: Controlling access & permissions for sensitive data. 📌 Source / Great Reads: Visual via “What is MCP” by Norah Klintberg Sakal & “Introducing the Model Context Protocol” by Anthropic #ai #llms #agent #startups #founder #vc

  • Janus collaborates with Shui On to deliver the Smart Site Safety System (4S), enhancing site safety with various advanced IoT devices that go beyond requirements for a safer and smarter construction environment. Safety, Act Together!

𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗭𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 To promote high-quality development in Hong Kong, the construction industry must establish a robust safety foundation. The CIC advocates prioritising safety while employing advanced construction methods and innovative technologies to achieve the industry's vision of "zero accidents" on sites. Recently, Ir Prof. Thomas HO, Chairman of the CIC, visited the Public Housing Development at Sheung Shui Areas 4 and 30 Site 1 Phase 1, accompanied by Mr. Carl DEVLIN, Capital Works Director of MTR Corporation, along with various industry stakeholders. The main contractor, Shui On Building Contractors Limited, is committed to upholding good corporate governance principles and strives to create a safe, healthy and harmonious working environment under the spirit of "Safety, Act Together". Mr. Freddy LEE, CEO of SOCAM Development, emphasised that the top management attaches great importance to site safety. In addition to conducting regular site walks, the management utilises technology for remote monitoring, showcasing their commitment to maintaining site safety conditions. Shui On also implements a "T.O.P." approach to promote the proper supervisory safety behaviours. Since 2023, the company has established a Corporate Training Compound at Ping Che, providing safety trainings for over 180,000 individuals both on site and off site last year. Alongside organising safety-related promotional activities and trainings, the company actively embodies the design-for-safety concept and explores innovative solutions to ensure site safety. For example, employing a self-developed Smart Site Safety System (4S) that monitors the environment in real-time allows management to adjust operational arrangements based on data. Coupled with various smart devices, such as smartwatches and AI cameras, potential safety risks can be identified and alerts issued promptly, significantly enhancing on-site safety management. The project has achieved a remarkable "zero incident" record over a million working hours, earning praise from Ir Prof. HO for its exemplary performance in site safety, setting a commendable benchmark for the industry worthy of emulation! Together, let's say "no" to danger and build a better future for Hong Kong. #CIC #ConstructionIndustryCouncil #Safety #SiteSafety #Technology
