Meet Daniel F., Manager - Operation at Kai Tak Sports Park. He is one of the turf management team members at the Sports Park, ensuring the facilities are well prepared and delivered in every international sports events. Recently, the team had adopted the globally renowned “Lay and Play” Technology in Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground for turf laying. “The innovative ‘Lay and Play’ method allows the efficient and instant establishment of a high-quality playing surface. A specific aftercare programme is developed for the pitch on the basis of the turf species, format, climate, day-to-day weather conditions and use requirements.”, said Daniel, illustrating the key features of #LayAndPlay method. “’Carpet hybrid’ root-zone reinforcement system has been used for turf growing at the Youth Sports Ground. It consists of an artificial carpet with a permanent or degradable backing to which artificial grass fibres are attached. The system is used as the turfgrasses are grown off-site, and can simply install on-site.” “An innovative rainwater harvesting system had also improved water drainage and irrigation in the sporting venues. Rainwater is collected, recycled and utilized for irrigation. The smart irrigation system can automatically adjust the watering schedule and frequency by monitoring the weather and humidity conditions.”, said Daniel. Being the pioneer management of “Lay and Play” Hybrid Turf in Hong Kong, the team had considered thoroughly to overcome the obstacles and fight for the goal of delivering the world-class venues with facilities meeting international standard. #KaiTakSportsPark #KTSP #KaiTakYouthSportsPark #KTSPeople #sports #leisure #entertainment #stadium #sportforall #homevenue #Football #Rugby #Athletics #Hybrid #Turf #Hybridturf #LayAndPlay #Rainharvesting #Sustainability #RevolutionizingSports #ASMGlobal
