❓Can Britain deliver on its infrastructure ambitions? Rachel Reeves’ bold infrastructure plans will only succeed if we tackle the skills gap. But is the industry ready? Mark Reynolds, Mace Executive Chairman, remains confident: “If we are very clear about our 10-year infrastructure strategy, develop and prioritise the pipeline, industry and government are more than capable of developing its workforce sufficient to meet the demands.” Read more in The Guardian: 🔗https://lnkd.in/dHSJWsWh #MaceGroup #UK #Infrastructure

What do Taylor Swift and SpaceX have in common? 🎤✨ They both adopt a vertically integrated approach to their supply chain. Is this something the construction industry could learn from? The UK construction sector faces a productivity gap, lagging 13.5% behind the wider economy, greater supply chain integration could help close this gap, potentially adding £45bn annually to the economy. Find out more, as Gavin Seager, our Managing Director for Construct Specialist Services, shares how we've seen the benefits of integration firsthand and whether vertical integration is the key to unlocking productivity. 👉👷♂️https://lnkd.in/e9sPZ7Gv #MaceConstruct #MaceSpecialistServices #ThoughtLeadership

Tackling the productivity problem 📈 Hannah Vickers, Global Head of Advisory at Mace is a keynote speaker at tomorrow’s Construction Productivity Conference. Driving productivity improvements across the construction sector is vital to the resilience of our industry and perhaps more pertinent currently to driving economic growth, whether through capitalising on offsite manufacturing or innovative commercial approaches to delivery. Strong advisory is crucial to achieving this, supporting clients in making the best decisions around investing to maximise productivity, reduce risk exposure and increase delivery confidence. Hannah recently wrote about this very issue in Utility Week, responding to Kier Starmer PM’s call to regulators to support his mission to boost economic growth, which you can read here: 🔗https://lnkd.in/dwb7JUkd. Come and listen to Hannah’s speech at 9:25 am, and visit the Mace stand for more detail on the value of strong advisory for your programmes. #MaceConsult #MaceUK #BusinessAdvisory

Digging deep at Salisbury Square🚧⬇️ Who knew basements could be so interesting? Our work on the Salisbury Square Development project, featured in Ground Engineering Magazine, has dug deep with its 18.5m deep, 6,200m² basement. 💬 As Dave Osborne, our Associate Director of Engineering, said, "Demolishing the existing underground structure of Fleetbank House and retaining the existing perimeter ground and retaining walls was quite a challenge." With the incredible teamwork of Keltbray and Wentworth House Partnership, we've turned this basement into a true engineering marvel. Funded and delivered by the City of London Corporation, the development will become a flagship facility for HM Courts & Tribunals Service (HMCTS), including 18 courtrooms and the new HQ for the City of London Police. Next time you're on Fleet Street, just imagine the engineering magic happening below your feet!
