Inspiring Growth: “Strive and Rise Programme” Visit at The Mira Hong Kong   On 20 August, we welcomed around 40 mentors and mentees participating in the "Strive and Rise Programme" organized by the HKSAR Government, for an enriching visit to The Mira Hong Kong hotel. Hosted by both the Group and the hotel, the participants toured the hotel and our dining establishments. They also engaged in a team-building activity to appreciate the essential role of teamwork in the workplace, followed by an afternoon tea. These activities enabled the participants to gain insights into the hotel’s daily operations and explore career opportunities in the hospitality sector, encouraged future growth and development.   The "Strive and Rise Programme", through tripartite collaboration between the Government, the business sector and the community, aims to broaden the horizons of underprivileged secondary school students, reinforcing their self-confidence, developing a positive outlook on life, and empowering them to set ambitious goals and strive for upward mobility.   #StriveAndRiseProgramme #MiramarGroup #TheMiraHongKong #MiravellousMoments #MiraCare #InspiringGrowth

Promoting Cultural Experiences: The Mira Hong Kong Hosts the Hong Kong Sake Festival AGAIN on a Bigger, Better, and Longer Scale 🍶 Miramar Group is proud to support events that enrich our community with cultural experiences. Following the sell-out success of the inaugural The Hong Kong Sake Festival in 2023, we are delighted to welcome its return from 14 – 16 August in The Mira Hong Kong's penthouse Ballroom. The festival is a collaboration between our The Mira Hong Kong and the Federation of Japanese Sake Industry of Hong Kong (FJSIHK), with the support of Miramar Travel and other supporting partners. The opening ceremony of the event was held on 14 August and attended by distinguished guests including Mr. Kenichi OKADA, Ambassador and Consul-General of Japan, Mr. Alan Chan, Chief Operations Officer of Miramar Group, Mr. Alexander Wassermann, Head of Hotels & Serviced Apartments of Miramar Group, Mr. Alex Lee, Director of Marketing Strategy and Development – Hospitality of Miramar Group, and Mr. Micky Chan, Chairman of the FJSIHK. This year's expanded festival feature over 500 varieties of sake and shochu from 150 breweries across Japan. Complementing the extensive selection, the event also features educational 101 Workshops and Sake Master Classes led by industry experts. Following the festival, visitors can also indulge in sake-infused gourmet experiences at our European restaurant, WHISK. Miramar Group and Save the Children Hong Kong Collaborate to Promote Love and Sustainability   In our commitment to creating a healthy and sustainable environment for future generations, the Group has partnered with Save the Children Hong Kong (SCHK) through our #MiraCare Platform. Together, we orchestrated a special day for underprivileged families with the dual purpose of fostering joy and sustainability. Over 40 children and their families, recruited by SCHK from their Shamshuipo Centre and Play to Thrive Program, were invited to our delightful vegetarian restaurant, JAJA.   The event featured an engaging eco-friendly DIY workshop, where children had the chance to express their creativity by painting the beloved local IP cartoon character, "BOBO with friends", using sustainable materials. After the workshop, all participants enjoyed an eco-friendly education session led by SCHK, followed by a fufilling lunch of innovative vegetarian cuisine provided by JAJA. This dining experience highlighted the deliciousness and enjoyment of plant-based meals. Proud to Have Participated in Green Impact Go's Beach Cleanup! 🌊🌳 To promote and embrace a low-carbon lifestyle and achieve net-zero emissions, Miramar Group has supported @Green Power by being their "Green Impact Go 2024" Green Impact Partner and participate in their series of activities that strive to build a sustainable future. On World Environment Day 2024, our team joined forces with Green Power to clean up our local beach. Over 408 kg of coastal waste, including a substantial amount of plastic debris and discarded fishing waste, were collected by all the participating parties. It was an impactful day spent making a real difference for our community and the planet. By coming together to remove waste and debris from the shoreline, we are taking tangible steps to protect our oceans and environment. Our prestigious hotel brand, The Mira Hong Kong, proudly participated in the 27th Great Chefs of Hong Kong event organized by the Heep Hong Society. This annual culinary extravaganza, which has been a resounding success since its inception, serves as a major fundraising event to support families of children with special needs. During the event, Chef Edwin from Cuisine Cuisine at The Mira showcased his culinary expertise by presenting three signature dishes to over 200 guests, alongside other renowned chefs in town, all in support of this noble cause. “Your Clothes, Our Planet 🌱 ” Did you know you can help the environment by giving your unwanted clothes a second chance? Miramar Group is passionate about promoting green living, and we have partnered with Redress , an Asia-focused environmental NGO, to support their "Get Redressed Month" campaign 2024. This year's campaign, themed "Your Clothes, Our Planet", aims to raise awareness about the environmental impact of clothing consumption and reduce fashion waste. To support this initiative, we have placed collection boxes in various locations, including Mira Place 1, The Mira Hong Kong, and our head office. Both the public and our staff members are encouraged to donate their unwanted or used clothes to these collection boxes from now to 26 May.
