Khoemacau’s community relations team, along with Boikobo Paya, Khoemacau’s Director of External Affairs and Jorge De Carvalho, MMG’s Head of Social Performance recently attended Dikgotla (a traditional community council) in local communities - Somelo, Toteng, Sehithwa, Makgalo and Komana.     The team also met with landowners of farms adjacent to the mine, the Lake Ngami Conservation Trust and the North West District Council. The meetings were productive and helped enhance understanding of community needs and opportunities. MMG Las Bambas has launched a Life Critical Controls Pocket Guide.      This quick guide is designed to provide a reminder of the minimum and essential requirements before starting any task in relation to the 12 fatal risks identified across the site.    The main purpose of this guide is to build trust between employees and supervisors by ensuring the effective application of critical controls before and during job performance.  It also guarantees rigorous compliance of safety standards required to perform quality and risk-free jobs as employees get empowered to stop any job at any time threatening their safety.    This release is an important reminder to “STOP and THINK” before starting any job to prevent incidents.    #wemineforprogress #LasBambas #ourpeople #mining #Peru

MMG Rosebery Mine representatives recently met with local students to get them excited about a career in the mining industry at the Spring into Education and Employment Expo at Study Hub in Zeehan.     The Survey and Environment teams displayed the drone technology used for underground mapping, which enables us to inspect underground areas where it was previously not possible while also improving efficiency.       The team was pleased to have the opportunity to engage with students about potential career options in mining and provide a better understanding of the industry.    #wemineforprogress #ourcommunity #Rosebery #Roseberymine

MMG’s Rosebery Mine threw its support behind the Vinnies CEO Sleepout at Burnie in Tasmania. The event, organised by Not-For-Profit Family Based Care Tasmania, raised $6,000 to help break the cycle of homelessness. The money raised will go directly to the local Vinnies organisation. MMG was represented by Rosebery Mine General Manager Steve Scott, Manager Environment, Community and Closure, Adam Pandelis and Community Liaison Coordinator, Chris Winskill. MMG Kinsevere recently hosted a comprehensive three-day training session for 20 delegates and nine permanent members of its inter-union committee. This initiative aimed to immerse new union delegates in their roles and responsibilities, ensuring they are well-equipped to advocate for workers' rights and interests. At the conclusion of the training, each delegate was awarded a certificate of completion, personally handed out by Charles Kyona, Kinsevere’s Secretary General. He highlighted the importance of a well-functioning inter-union committee as a testament to a healthy society. This training marks a significant step towards enhancing the capabilities of union delegates, ensuring they are well-prepared to advocate for workers' rights and contribute to the overall well-being of the workforce in RDC. ----- MMG Kinsevere a récemment organisé une session de formation complète de trois jours pour 20 délégués et neuf membres permanents de son comité intersyndical. Cette initiative visait à familiariser les nouveaux délégués syndicaux avec leur rôle et leurs responsabilités, afin qu'ils soient bien équipés pour défendre les droits et les intérêts des travailleurs. À l'issue de la formation, chaque délégué a reçu un certificat d'achèvement, remis personnellement par Charles Kyona, secrétaire général de Kinsevere. Il a souligné l'importance d'un comité intersyndical qui fonctionne correctement, car c'est le témoignage d'une société saine.
