Kathryn’s Thoughts on AdventureX "The trip as a whole was just incredible. Setting it up as a mystery adds even more excitement. Greenland is a place which very few people have visited or even live. Every day was something different and unique. Spending time travelling and forming a connection with not only the environment you’re in but with the group I’ve been a part of is the biggest takeaway for me that I will ponder and think differently about how I approach these type of adventures in the future. I’d hugely value the opportunity to come back because I think this is an environment that’s going to change in the coming years. Matt and Chris are both incredible individuals, both unique in their own respects. I think they complement each other really well. We’ve spent a lot of time not only out doing some physically challenging things but we’ve also spent time pondering from an intellectual and spiritual perspective and they bring a well rounded and balanced perspective through both of their personalities. It’s incredible to see some of the individual paths that they’ve been on in their own lives and they’ve been very open and transparent in sharing and I’ve really respected and appreciated that. The other thing that stands out for me is that although they’ve been the organisers of the trip and in some respects, leaders, they’ve never actively taken a leadership role or authority of the group. We’ve really gelled together and they’ve seen themselves as much participants as leaders which is quite unique. For others interested in doing an adventure like this, I think just dive in. There’s obviously quite a lot of mystery to what you’re signing up to. We’ve talked a lot about operating from the head and the heart and the gut. Paul’s Thoughts on AdventureX “It feels like an experience more than a trip, something that you can’t find anywhere else. The combination of adventure, people and connection is very unique. The location itself was unique too, the landscapes, the places we went and doing experiences that I’ve never had before with people I just met but felt really connected to was definitely special because a lot of trips when you go with other groups of people, you don’t get to know them that well, and this was definitely a different kind of experience. My two favourite bits were watching a polar bear on the hunt and jumping into the water from a floating iceberg, that was incredible! I’ll take home a lot of memories, new friends and a newfound appreciation for the wilderness and for places like Greenland that seem to be changing so quickly. I think remembering it in this state is going to be important. Matt and Chris were amazing, they work really well together and compliment each other. It was very easy to get comfortable being around them and to get to know them. I loved how they were willing to push the limits but also watch out for our well-being and keep things safe. I felt taken care of but also pushed, that’s a fine line to walk and they did that extremely well. Thankyou for this experience, it was amazing.
