As recent studies show 9% of the EU population has inadequate access to essential energy services such as heating, cooling and power for appliances, a new report on energy poverty in the EU, produced by our digital modelling and economic analysis teams, provides an in-depth look at the current state of energy poverty and the indicators used to measure it across the region. It also offers recommendations to national and local governments on actions to ensure citizens can access essential energy services. The report was led by our modelling experts Faidra Filippidou, Stelios Tsiaras, Christos Kokkinos, Panagiotis Cheilas and Zoi Vrontisi, along with colleagues Norah Cheikh, Perla Torres, Ling Ying Lee, Eleonora Van der Steen from Trinomics, Samuele Livraghi, Vlasios Oikonomou, Marco Peretto from Institute for European Energy and Climate Policy Foundation (IEECP) and Florin Vondung from Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy.
