Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! Egg tarts and fruits have long been a traditional snack for people to enjoy during the Mid- Autumn festival. As part of our employee engagement initiative, we invited our employees to taste delicious egg tarts from the Tai Cheong outlet in Hong Kong. On a lighter note, we also read anonymous messages written for our colleagues (by our own colleagues) that capture the true essence of the Mid-Autumn festival - thanking them for making it the #bestpartofthejourney for everyone.

Today (September 5) is International Day of Charity as declared by United Nations! Did you know that one of our ten sustainability commitments (No. 10: Supporting Communities) is to partner with charities and other local organizations that help us to light up other people’s lives. In FY 2023, our teams in APAC participated in various charitable activities, including donating non-perishable food to Food Bank Australia and the Shepherd’s Centre Foundation in Malaysia, supporting the Green Power Hike Competition in Hong Kong, and organizing a beach cleanup with the local municipality in Lapu-Lapu, Cebu. Australia is our biggest market in APAC - in terms of the number of restaurants, people and brands we work with. We commenced our operations Down Under in 2007 when we entered Sydney Airport; since then, we have expanded and recently entered our 12th airport (Launceston Airport in Tasmania). The results of our recently concluded Global Colleague Survey (GCS) enabled us to reflect on the feedback we received from our colleagues, and work together on tangible actions to improve their work experience with SSP. The APAC & Hong Kong People team collaborated to organize a fun and casual interaction session with everyone on Friday to update our colleagues on progress. The specific objective of the gathering was to help our colleagues understand why employee engagement is a crucial contributor for greater collaboration between teams that leads to better results and ultimately becoming the best part of our colleagues' career journey.
