Our TEC Community Sydney recently hosted an engaging workshop on beating burnout at our Sydney Place Centre. During the session, Cathy Rolfe, a Burnout Coach, Meditation Trainer, and Leadership Consultant, shared invaluable guidance on combating burnout and stress with our Members. The session highlighted how overcoming burnout isn't about managing stress but about reshaping our responses and offered practical techniques. Here are the key takeaways on understanding, resetting and preventing burnout: ✍️ Understanding Burnout: Burnout is a workplace syndrome characterised by unmanaged stress, extreme fatigue, mental distance from work, and decreased self-efficacy. Recognising it as a signal for change rather than a personal failure and swiftly addressing burnout is essential for safeguarding your health and well-being. While self-care offers temporary relief, proper recovery demands more profound changes in our everyday lives. 💪 Resetting Burnout: Burnout results from a mismatch between a person and their job in six core areas: workload, control, reward, community, fairness, and values. Transforming your approach to stress and realigning your life with your core values can help you recover from burnout. Practice meditation for 20 minutes twice daily to help reset your body and mind through repeated mantras, identify misaligned tasks, and discuss how to align your strengths with your duties to our manager. 🙋 Preventing Burnout: Maintaining a sustainable work-life balance is necessary. This can be achieved through clear communication and realistic goal setting, as well as setting SMART goals—specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound—to define your purpose clearly. Furthermore, dedicate 10 minutes each evening to reflect and identify stress points and achievements. #Community #Sydney #Burnout

"I realised then that flexible working spaces were becoming an increasingly popular option since so many companies were downsizing and looking for flexible options. This taught me that there are many strategic possibilities in this industry; it's important how you differentiate yourself from others and how you provide the service standard that the client wants and needs." In a recent article by CEO Magazine, our Managing Director of Southeast Asia, Yvonne Lim, shared how she has contributed to the company's remarkable growth by leveraging the demand for flexible workspaces in the region. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, TEC has seen rising occupancy rates as companies pursued more agile office arrangements, leading to rapid expansion in multiple Southeast Asian cities. Adapting to meet our Members' evolving needs by offering premium workplace services has been vital to TEC's continued success. As TEC celebrates 30 years, Yvonne also revealed further expansion plans are on the horizon, with Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur as potential new cities. Click to read more: https://loom.ly/WEwLeTs

“Atiom encompasses the protocols and procedures for Operations and other departments like Business Development, Service Revenue, and IT. This comprehensive approach has deepened my understanding of departmental functions and, to an extent, improved cross-departmental cooperation.” Since 2021, TEC has been utilising Atiom, an AI-powered, cross-functional training platform, to gamify our teammates’ training and to foster engagement. Since the programme’s inception, our Director of Operations - Taijin, Vincent Wang, has been using Atiom to collaborate with global teammates, stay updated on industry trends and complete courses through bite-sized modules. Vincent highlights the effectiveness and convenience of the 5-minute learning modules, which provide regular training with minimal time commitment and have proven useful for his daily tasks. For example, the “Brand Guideline” module enhanced his understanding of our logo and poster design standardisation, which has been invaluable for joint activities with partners. #careers #employeetraining

In collaboration with Cathay Pacific, our TEC Community™ recently hosted an engaging lunch and learn session on turning random encounters into meaningful opportunities. During the session at our Ayala Triangle Gardens Tower 2 Centre in Manila, Eric Manuel, the Country Representative of Arch Capital, shared valuable insights from his professional journey and tips on making the best of every situation. Members learned the importance of embracing spontaneity and effective communication while navigating their career paths. Here are some key takeaways from the session: 💡Network Beyond Boundaries: Expand your horizons to encounter diverse perspectives and ideas that can inspire innovation and new approaches in your career. Attend industry events, social gatherings, and informal meet-ups to broaden your network. Unexpected opportunities like job offers or collaborations can occur by stepping out of your comfort zone and engaging with new people. 🗣️ Elevate Your Conversations: Transform casual interactions into valuable opportunities through effective communication to make a strong impression, opening doors to new possibilities. Practice listening attentively and articulating your thoughts clearly. After a spontaneous encounter, follow up with a personalised message to solidify relationships and create memorable connections. ➡️ Establish a Clear Purpose: Understanding and working towards your "Ikigai," or a sense of purpose, helps set meaningful career goals, providing motivation and fulfilment. Identify what drives you and align your career path with personal values and interests for greater job satisfaction and success. Achieve this by defining clear, actionable goals and a plan. Our TEC Community Seoul recently hosted an informative Tax & Accounting session at our Three IFC Centre featuring Philip Woo, a Senior Partner from Daehyun Accounting Corporation. The insightful event gave our Members valuable insights into the current trends and challenges in Korean tax and accounting and offered practical advice through recent case studies. Here are some key takeaways: 💻 Adopting AI Programmes: AI can enhance efficiency by automating tasks and managing data, but issues with trust and accountability remain. Companies should evaluate which processes can be automated with AI without compromising quality and ensure human oversight for critical decisions. Additionally, it is recommended that a feedback loop be established, which is crucial for continuously improving AI systems based on user input. 🔒 Cybersecurity: With increasing data breach risks, robust cybersecurity measures are essential to protect sensitive financial information. Companies should invest in secure data storage solutions and conduct regular audits to identify and address vulnerabilities. Ongoing cybersecurity training for employees is also essential, ensuring they are informed about best practices and emerging threats. 🌿 ESG Reporting in Financial Documents: ESG factors are increasingly important for investors to understand a company's sustainability efforts. To attract and retain investors, companies must integrate ESG metrics into their financial reports and demonstrate their commitment to sustainability. Educate employees on the significance of ESG reporting and provide training on effective reporting strategies. #Finances #Technology #Seoul

TEC Hong Kong recently welcomed students from the Creativity in Entrepreneurial Challenges Programme at our Three Garden Road Centre. This initiative, organised by the HKMU Business School, helps secondary school students discover new perspectives, nurture an entrepreneurial mindset, and foster innovative thinking. During this engaging session, the students actively explored our premium workspaces and learned how a professional environment can enhance productivity and innovation. Here are some key takeaways: 🧑💻 Choose the Right Environment: A professional setting provides the structure and resources essential for growth and innovation. It boosts networking opportunities, enhances credibility, and fosters a productive atmosphere. When selecting a workspace, consider location, accessibility, and essential business amenities. High-quality technology infrastructure, including IT support, ergonomic design, and collaborative spaces, can streamline operations, reduce costs, and encourage innovation. 🙋 Maximise Your Space: Flexible workspaces offer more than a productive environment. They provide a supportive community, scalable spaces, and professional business and IT support, allowing entrepreneurs to focus on core activities. To maximise these benefits, engage with the community by participating in workshops and events. Utilise shared amenities like meeting rooms and breakout areas to your advantage. #Learning #Careers #Entrepreneurship

"Placing menstrual product boxes in restrooms might seem simple, but the main challenge was that TEC's locations are in Grade A commercial buildings with strict compliance and consistency requirements. Fortunately, many of the 'communication windows' were women who enthusiastically shared insights on potential issues and advised on how to propose the cooperation to building management." Recently, our Market Head of Taiwan, Carrie Chuang, discussed TEC's partnership with LUÜNA to introduce complimentary menstrual products in all our TEC Taiwan Centres with Bloomberg Businessweek. The article discussed how the increasing presence of women in investment and decision-making roles benefits female entrepreneurs, especially in the ESG sector. Carrie also noted how other female leaders quickly understood the challenges women face due to the stigma around menstruation and were eager to help create a more inclusive workplace. This positive experience, which saw the project implemented within a month, demonstrated how women's voices and influence can facilitate smoother operations and foster more inclusive work environments.
