This week, we were excited to have participated in Hong Kong FinTech Week, one of the most exciting events in town! 🎉 It was fantastic to witness the positive vibes exchanged among fintech veterans and enthusiasts alike. The panel on the first day kicked off with an interesting “spin-the-wheel” session, where our Group Chief Strategy Officer, Jessica Lam and the panel engaged in an unscripted discussion on various hot fintech topics. On the second day, our President & Group Chief Operating Officer, Ernest Leung discussed the latest developments in digital ID, highlighting how it fosters trust-building, streamlines onboarding, ensures regulatory compliance, and enhances data management in the financial sector. As a homegrown fintech group, we always eager to contribute our expertise to make our city a better place for everyone. This year, our Hong Kong digital bank WeLab Bank took on the challenge of reimagining large-scale subsidy programs with fintech! 💰📱🏦 Thanks to the trust placed in us by the H.S. Chau Foundation, WeLab Bank is honored to serve as 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐤 for the Dear Girlfriends program. In this exciting project, our team curated a flow to manage the application and disbursement of a HKD 3,300 cash subsidy for over 18,500 eligible students across Hong Kong—all in a fully digital manner. Eligible students can apply for the subsidy via the dedicated website; many of them have already experienced swift subsidy disbursement journey and seen the subsidies deposited into their preferred accounts. Generative AI is transforming industries, and we see its incredible potential in fintech industry—hyper-personalized customer experiences, enhanced risk assessment, and improved fraud detection. At our company, where finance meets technology, we see GenAI as a new frontier for innovation and new possibilities💡. Noticing the up and rising trend of Gen AI, we have hosted a series of GenAI lunch & learn sessions for our WeLabbers. Big thanks to Nap Chan, Peter Ng, and Kenneth Yiu for sharing the knowledge of how we can use these AI-powered tools to generate tailored texts, high-quality visuals and videos, and analyze customer preferences and trends to enhance the customer experience✨.
