THE WOMEN WORKPLACE INDEX met the media and nearly a hundred audiences. Here's a snap shot 📍The first of its kind in Asia and aims to become the biggest publicly accessible database of such disclosures 📍 We collect data from firms on policies and practices, eg, those against sexual harassment, and maternity leave and equal pay, 📍A survey developed with reference to criteria such as listing rules and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. 📍NICOLE YUEN who founded WWI to track the breadth of companies’ underlying policies, said, "not just gender diversity. it's too simplistic." 📍Focusing on disclosures, she said, helps job seekers make more informed decisions and encourages employers to share best practices. 📍 WWi pilot study, covering 250 listed and multinational companies in Hong Kong across a range of sectors, will be released in May. 📍 Companies that have signed up as members so far include Sino Group and CLP , the legal firm Linklaters. 📍the The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology which worked with WWI on its research. 📍self-reporting tools also inherently attract more “first-mover” companies that are already doing well. 📍The space will need to mature to get a critical mass of companies to participate 🐦When consumers start to care, companies start to care. 🐦 when it's measured, more transparency, and better managed.
