About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced and driven Head of Business Development for our Commercial Card Business under Business Banking. This person will play a crucial role in helping our company grow and thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead and manage business development activities to achieve volume, revenue, and profitability objectives within the commercial card business.
  2. Create and manage key partnerships with commercial entities to increase card portfolio, including OTA (online travel agencies) and SME clients.
  3. Develop strategic business plans to identify and acquire potential clients.
  4. Work closely with the sales, Marketing, and Product teams to understand marketplace trends and develop strategic initiatives.
  5. Foster a deep understanding of market trends and competitive data to drive product and market strategy.
  6. Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders and industry influencers.
  7. Ensure effective communication and coordination within and beyond the commercial card team to allow business operations to be conducted efficiently.
  8. Ensure the business operates within the company policies and procedures, and is fully compliant with the industry regulations at all times.
  9. Mentor and develop staff to enhance performance, morale, and productivity, guiding succession planning for the team.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a business development role, preferably within the commercial card business.
  2. Proven track record in managing and directing a dynamic business development team.
  3. Strong knowledge of the commercial card business and its associated technologies.
  4. Exceptional leadership skills, with an ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  5. Proven negotiation skills with a problem-solving attitude.
  6. Exceptional ability in identifying and evaluating earned business opportunities.
