China State Construction Engineering (Hong Kong) Limited (“the Company” or “China State Hong Kong”) started its construction business in Hong Kong in 1979. The Company engages in building construction and civil engineering works. China State Hong Kong is among the largest construction contractors in Hong Kong, and is approved by the Works Bureau, to be on the List of Approved Contractors (Group C) for Public Works in the five major categories of building and civil engineering works, namely, “Buildings”, “Port Works”, “Roads and Drainage”, “Site Formation” and “Waterworks”.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible to the Supervisor or his delegates for the supervision of the construction works assigned to him and carry out duties of a Contractor Employed Clerk of Works as detailed in the Site Administration Handbook (SAH) published by the ArchSD which is available for inspection of the Contractor at the Project Manager’s office with prior appointment during normal office hours
• Manage and monitor the site activities conforming to the Employer’s Requirements, ArchSD General Specification, the Site Administration Handbook (SAH), relevant BSEN and Code of Practice, or other documents as specified by the Project Manager or Supervisor or his delegates
  
  

Requirements

Works Supervisor (CE/WS(BS))

• Certificate in Building Services or Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a Hong Kong Polytechnic University / Polytechnic or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education / technical institute / technical college or equivalent
• At least 5 years experience as a skilled WORKER in the field of Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Completed a recognized technician apprenticeship in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
• Attained a level of proficiency in Chinese and English Languages equivalent to Form 3 standard; together with three 3 years relevant post-qualification experience of site supervision of building services and E&M installations
  
  

E&M Inspector (CE/EMI)

• Diploma or Higher Certificate or higher qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a Hong Kong Polytechnic University / Polytechnic or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education / technical institute / technical college or equivalent
• At least 10 years relevant site experience for E&M works including 6 years post-qualification experience in the capacity of Electrical or Mechanical Inspection work or equivalent
• Attained the language proficiency requirements of ‘level 2’ or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination, or equivalent (Note: ‘Grade E’ in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to ‘Level 2’ Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth)
