📌 The Chinese government has allegedly begun liquidating a significant portion of Ethereum (ETH) seized from the infamous PlusToken (multi-billion dollar) pyramid scheme. 🔸 In early August, on-chain movement of ETH linked to the case resurfaced for the first time since 2021, with around 7,000 ETH of the remaining 542,000 ETH (worth $1.3 billion) sent to exchanges in the past 48 hours, signaling the start of the asset sell-off. 🔸 The majority of the confiscated Bitcoin was sold between August 2019 and March 2020, with an estimated $1.3 billion worth of BTC sold during that period. Unlike Bitcoin, the vast majority of the seized Ethereum remained untouched until mid-2021 when third of the 840,000 ETH have been sold. 📉 Now, with the Chinese government allegedly restarting the sale of the remaining ETH, the market may be bracing for more selling pressure that could impact prices in the short term. 👑 📈 Tron generated total revenue of $566 million in the third quarter, placing it ahead of giants like Ethereum, Solana, and Bitcoin. Over the past year, Tron has generated approximately $1.66 billion in total revenue, marking a 113% year-on-year growth. 🔥 🔸 Token Terminal shows that Tron’s third-quarter revenue was more than 2x higher than Ethereum’s $253 million, 5x higher than Solana’s $105 million and 9x greater than Bitcoin’s $57 million. 🔸 DeFillama data reveals that Tron is the second-largest blockchain for stablecoins, controlling 34.8% of the market and supplying $59.8 billion in stablecoins. 📌 Additionally, the recent launch of SunPump, a memecoin launchpad, has boosted Tron’s visibility within the industry and contributed significantly to the increased network activity. 📌 Fed chair Jerome Powell confirmed weeks of speculation by announcing a 50 basis point rate cut after four years of restrictive monetary policy. 📈 🔥 Bitcoin (BTC) experienced heavy volatility following the Fed’s FOMC meeting but maintained its position above the $60,000 threshold. The day after the Fed meeting, the price continued to rise and reached almost $64,000 (+6.8%). 🔸 The policy shift comes after a prolonged period of rate hikes by the Fed, which raised interest rates to combat inflation throughout 2022 and 2023. The decision aligns with other global central banks, such as the European Central Bank, which has also lowered rates this year in response to easing inflation pressures. 🔸 Expectations of additional rate cuts, with benchmark rates projected to decrease to 4.4% by year-end, also support Bitcoin’s upward momentum.
