European Day of Languages We are gladly sharing with you today's language exercise It's important to celebrate with your students this day for many reasons. So, this morning, students (age 12-14) made their first haiku poems in English, paying attention to the rhythm: 5-7-5. 1st verse: description of the picture 2nd verse: action 3rd verse: conclusion It wasn't easy to count syllables in English, but method of clapping hands was really successful! One syllable, clap your hands. Soothing classical music was playing, while they were trying to focus on one moment in autumn nature, following the given beat. Snow falling on the ground, Radio is playing- Autumn feeling Massive spruce tree, Fallen leaf sailing the wind- Colours of autumn Authors: 6th grade students (age 12) We hope you will try this exercise to make your students' linguistic skills more improved.
