It’s safe to say that nowadays, Gen AI is conquering all professional spheres, offering new ways of doing business, handling documentation, and even managing the supply chain. The latter is just the topic of today’s post, where we’ll jump into the general ways of Generative AI impacting logistics. For starters, according to a Gartner 2024 report, half of supply chain organizations were planning on investing in Gen AI in 2024. Why and in what ways? 🔹 Employee support - as labor shortages are the top challenge for 60% of supply chain organizations, it’s no wonder that managers turn to Gen AI to operate as client support agents or perform analytical functions (statistics by Gartner) 🔹 Logistics optimization - by creating dynamic routing plans based on weather conditions, traffic, road repairs, etc., Generative AI can optimize and plan the most efficient route, taking into consideration all the affecting factors. 🔹 Information management - from report generation to task tracking, Gen AI will make the processes more transparent and save time spent on reporting. According to the Accenture report, 43% of working hours across supply chains can be impacted by Generative AI, with 29% being automated, while an additional 14% could be significantly augmented (including time spent on report preparation). 🔹 Inventory management - while ML can predict demand and potential stock levels, Gen AI can generate optimal warehouse layout and create inventory forecasts based on demand patterns. We're thrilled to share the use case (https://lnkd.in/de2TCXhf) of our recent project where we aimed to revolutionize the patient experience at a medical clinic through advanced technology. Our client approached us with the challenge of enhancing customer service and streamlining the appointment scheduling process. The original request flow for appointments was overwhelming the clinic's receptionists, leading to significant delays and a growing waiting list. It’s generally accepted that only corporations or businesses can benefit from working with big data. We want to debunk this myth and discuss an interesting case study. 🎓 We collaborated with a leading technical university to create an information processing complex. The university had an information system for storing data about students, teachers, scholarships, salaries, and classes and aimed to automate the process of preparing and providing statistical reports to a higher governmental authority. 🔸 We split their goals into three parts: developing a corporate data warehouse, creating reports for visualization, and providing a training program. 🔸 We designed the structure of the university's data warehouse and developed statistical reports with data filtering and extraction. 🔸 We also created a lecture course and deployed a training program for practicing Big Data tools. The project implementation period was two months. The university now has new data management capabilities and is training highly qualified graduates in big data and data management, increasing its chances of becoming a leading university in the field. BlitzBrain's team successfully completed a project for an innovative bank specializing in providing technological financial services. Originally, the client expressed concerns about the quality of data stored in their enterprise data warehouse (DWH). Limited access to the DWH and primary data sources meant that users had to rely on intermediaries, causing delays and compromising data quality. To address these challenges, we implemented several projects with the following positive outcomes: 👉 Building a robust Data Warehouse: Our specialists utilized MPP Greenplum to construct a DWH capable of collecting data from various sources. The constructed DWH provided users with access to a centralized data repository, reducing reliance on intermediaries. Additionally, we automated the data collection process from primary sources, creating a Data Lake to store primary data. 👉 Implementing Master Data Management (MDM) System: We introduced an MDM system to evaluate the existing level of data quality and identify strategies for improvement. This resulted in the creation of a client Golden Record, encompassing over 250 attributes. Now the Golden Record empowers self-service measurement, management, and control of data quality. Ensuring high-quality data is crucial as it directly impacts decision-making and business performance. By preventing data duplication, errors, and inconsistencies, the Golden Record guarantees data uniformity and integrity. Effective data quality management enables the client to promptly address data issues and mitigate potential losses. The implementation of the MDM system enhances data understanding and facilitates more informed management decisions, minimizing the risk of profit loss and providing a competitive advantage in the market.
