We are delighted to announce that this year's BUD Air Cargo Day exceeded our already high expectations, based on the feedback from the 250+ participants. The collaborative atmosphere of the event produced a real air freight powerhouse. François Berisot, the CEO of BUD and Steven Polmans, the chairman of The International Air Cargo Association TIACA set the tone with compelling keynote speeches, which was followed by a series of engaging and informative presentations and panel discussions about the latest topics of the air freight industry, current affairs, trends and development directions, customer views by consignors, the consolidation and collaboration of stakeholders in the air freight industry, digitisation, airport cargo community systems and e-commerce. The award ceremony was a highlight of the event, where ACE and BUD handed over awards to their partners, persons and companies linked to the air freight industry with outstanding performances. One of the main goals of the conference was to provide networking and matchmaking opportunities for participants, to forge new connections and strengthen existing ones. The dinner, lunch and coffee breaks fulfilled this role perfectly. Budapest Airport donates nearly 20 million HUF from the proceeds of the Runway Run On the last Saturday of August, Budapest Airport held its twelfth annual Runway Run charity race. More than a thousand athletes took part in this year’s event, which raised more than 19 million HUF in entry fees. Budapest Airport, operated by VINCI Airports, divided the amount equally between the Save Lives Foundation, which helps sick children to recover, and the SUHANJ! Yesterday, Budapest Airport proudly hosted its annual Tourism Workshop at the Budapest Marriott Hotel. This event was a fantastic opportunity for airlines, tour operators, and tourism organizations to connect with travel agencies. During the workshop, we highlighted that in 2024, passenger traffic may exceed the record set in 2019. We were thrilled to see over 90 travel agencies and 33 exhibitors, including 13 airlines, 16 tour operators, and 4 tourism organizations, come together. We deeply appreciate our partners who made the journey to participate in this remarkable professional event. This year, we held an engaging round table discussion, where industry experts exchanged their insights, experiences, and future plans with the audience. A new Telekom counter has opened on the arrivals level of BUD Terminal 2B, open to passengers 24 hours a day. The offer of Telekom includes screen protectors, Telekom Travel SIM cards and phone accessories (chargers, cables, adapters, earphones, etc.) to ensure that our passengers are always prepared for their journey.
