On October 17th, CNetwork and Twilio hosted an insightful event in Berlin at the iconic Borchardt to explore "The Next Evolution of Customer Experience". The event was an opportunity to debate data-driven strategies for optimizing customer journeys. Sebastian Ziegler summed up the night perfectly: “An inspiring dive into the opportunities of data-driven customer experience, filled with insights and a must-attend for anyone aiming to stay ahead of the curve”. Last night, I had the privilege of joining a dynamic roundtable on how organisations are gearing up their IT infrastructure for the AI era. The discussion was fascinating, exploring how AI will reshape business operations, decision-making, and customer interactions. Key insights centred around leveraging AI to drive productivity, strengthening data governance and privacy practices, and, critically, the importance of applying foundational security principles to AI as rigorously as we do in other IT areas. It’s clear that a robust, secure IT infrastructure will be essential as AI adoption accelerates. I left inspired by the exciting potential AI brings and the industry-wide collaboration it will take to address the opportunities and challenges ahead. A big shoutout to my esteemed colleagues—David Williams, Adam Wreathall, Luis Ortega Lugo Ortega and Suzanne Markwell for their insightful contributions that truly enriched the conversation.
