  • 𝐕𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐀𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬🔍 ✈️    The new series of The Future of Aviation Podcast, moderated by Thomas Gawlitta and Prof. Dr. Lena Reiss, Head of Aviation at Drees & Sommer, introduces exciting insights and the latest trends from Vienna Airport, presented by Wolfgang Scheibenpflug, Senior Vice President Real Estate and Landside Management at Flughafen Wien - Vienna Airport.    𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐩𝐨𝐝𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 & 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐯𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:   🏙️Vienna AirportCity is a thriving business hub with 250 companies and 23,000 employees on-site. This unique community is developing not only new real estate, parking garages, and hotels but also various service facilities like a medical center, kindergarten, conference center, coworking spaces, post office, and even after-work events. It's fascinating to see how the terminal, passengers, users, and AirportCity interface together.   💡 Digitalization is among key innovation drivers at Vienna Airport. For the past five years, Vienna Airport has partnered with Plug and Play Tech Center from Silicon Valley, one of the largest start-up accelerators in the world. Through Plug & Play experts, Vienna Airport gains access to cutting-edge innovations that will mature in the upcoming years. The focus of digitalization efforts is on meeting the real needs of people, especially for seamless traveling. AI will play a crucial role in integrating the airport into an ecosystem that simplifies travel, making it less stressful and more relaxing.   🤖 Vienna Airport has set up its own AI congresses to address the most relevant and urgent topics, impacting the airport operations and future development. Airports are complex economic enterprises responsible for flight operations, energy supply, buildings, roads etc. AI will significantly enhance the prediction and deployment of resources, such as personnel and energy, through large data sets, achieving precision that might be beyond human capability.   🌱 Sustainability is another key focus at Vienna Airport. Already in 2015, the airport became the first location in Austria to certify an entire district, not just individual buildings. This pioneering effort addresses the relationships between buildings, green spaces, and energy supply comprehensively. Office Park 4, the most modern building at the airport, is one of the most sustainable buildings in Austria, utilizing geothermal energy for cooling and heating.   🎙️ Listen to the full interview with Wolfgang Scheibenpflug (in German) on ⤵️   • Apple Podcasts: #100 - Green & Digital Aviation • Spotify: #100 - Green & Digital Aviation   Join us in exploring the future of aviation and stay tuned for our next podcast episode!   #futureofaviation #green #digital #dreso #podcast
