🕸Have you heard of artificial spider silk? PrintyMed, a graduate of EIT Jumpstarter 2023 and the Post-Jumpstarter in the USA, has just secured €800,000 to develop this uniquely biocompatible material. It can be used to build artificial organs that can replace damaged ones and prolong the life of patients. The team's progressed with application of the artificial spider silk to create: 🧬 Organ-on-a-Chip for drug testing ❤️ Artificial Heart Valves for cardiac care 🕸 Unique applications in the cosmetics industry They secured the grant from VMTKC Competences Centre Latvia. The innovation was developed in the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis.
