It’s been a pleasure to partner with Armin Petschner-Multari and Arian Aghashahi at TheRepublic and speak on EU election outcomes at the first #BCC Berlin Campaign Conference that should start a tradition and fill a gap as a European exchange platform of center-right communicators and operatives. 💡Over a hundred select participants and 40 speakers from 4 continents gathered to discuss current trends and exchange recent practical experience across party lines. A few of the takeaways: 📌 It was interesting to observe how economic issues that tend to be core competence on the right are viewed so differently on two sides of the Atlantic. (talk about zero income tax or flat tax advocacy) 📌 Identity crisis on the left and liberal side of the spectrum makes blue collar workers a new important target group and also encourages more focus on the youth and the modestly growing youth vote. 📌 Related, embracing or not #TikToK was not so much the question, rather how to face the challenge when the candidate is hardly compatible. I appreciate #RSI’s long-time speakers and friends as Daniel Faraci, Jerry Zagoritis and Roland Rutten who agreed to join, sharing their insights in plenary and panels on the features and possible outcomes of the US presidential race, productive ways of doing campaigns from opposition, and strategies to reach Gen Z respectively. 📆 Keep a slot open in your calendar for next year’s edition.
