#EcoGas On-Demand | From Depok to #SiliconValley By 2024, this archipelago country will import 80% of #LPG gas & this #FossilFuel will be subsidized around IDR 117 trillion. Meanwhile, in other parts of the world - European countries are worried about the continuity of the Russian #gas supplies. Our dependence on fossil gas is so high, not surprising that the #UN Secretary-General recently said the world is on a highway to #ClimateHell as the planet endures 12 straight months of unprecedented heat. So what must we do? As part of #EnergyTransition, we must be able to produce #RenewableGas on our own. In terms of affordability & availability, both #Biogas & BioSyngas are good as seen in the infographic above - the local community may choose which best suits their needs. #BioSyngas as #CarbonNeutral Synthetic Gas that contains CO & H2 has some advantages, it’s the basic building block of #AdvancedBiofuels to produce any upgraded Renewable Gases if necessary, like #BioDME, #BioLPG, or even #BioHydrogen. We call EcoGas on-demand because of uses #Biochar from Biowaste as a gas carrier for a disruptive delivery system to make it cheap & very low #CarbonFootprint. Somehow, our initiatives & these small steps are appreciated by Stanford University - Top 3 Best Global Universities in the US, and AfterOil.id has been selected as one of the World's Most Innovative #Changemakers. Because of this, we are invited to attend & speak at the "Stanford #Sustainability Summit" event in the heart of Silicon Valley, Palo Alto, California - US in July 2024. Insyaa Allah. It has various aspects of city life, some as follows: 1) Green #Waste Management & Recycling: implementing comprehensive waste management programs that include recycling & micro-scale Waste-to-Energy projects that can reduce overloaded landfill waste & promote a circular economy. 2) Renewable & #RegenerativeEnergy: adopting renewable energy sources such as #AdvancedBiofuels, solar, wind, etc. More than that, regenerative energy - produced energy after previous energy usage through #CarbonCapture & Cycle, is not only sustainable but has high #EnergyEfficiency. "The youth is the hope of our future", said #JoseRizal. Manpower is the greatest asset in any country & youth are the most important asset because they can overcome problems & prosper beyond rough paths. "Youth are the Pillars of #Civilization", #BudiAshari lecture. Youth is a phase of strength between 2 weaknesses: the weakness of childhood & gray-haired old age. After childhood is the beginning of the youth phase when we take on personal, social & public responsibilities. The #YoungGeneration is given lots of attention today in all spheres of life: moral, political, social, economic & industrial affairs. Recently, we were honored to be invited to speak at TEDxUGM with the theme DAMAR: "Energizing Tomorrow" in the field of #Technology & #Sustainability. #TEDx is a program of independent events licensed by TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) & organized by young people - students from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Yogyakarta. #DAMAR refers to a small light source like a candle that illuminates a dark space. Metaphorically, it highlights the significance of small actions & ideas in shaping lives & fostering a sustainable, harmonious, and peaceful environment & society. Here are 7 #strengths of youth, just like TEDx UGM committee members: 1. Idealism & Social Change, desire to make the world a better place 2. The Nature of #Collaboration Building a #city to achieve a common goal in ways is no different from developing a #startup that needs #teamwork. Even though the internal team is small, it must be solid without asserting yourself personally. Is that enough? Of course not, that's why we're open to building relationships with other parties to complement each other's resources. #Jakarta - the #CapitalCity of #Indonesia is transforming into a #GlobalCity. Like other global cities in the world, it has many complex problems to solve such as #MSW/urban waste, #AirPollution, #CarbonEmissions, #EnergyTransition, etc. For this reason, Impact Hub Jakarta supported by Bank of America together with C40 Cities, CDP & #BAPPEDA #DKI, initiated the Climate Solutions Lab program as an effort to mitigate & adapt to #ClimateChange where the whole world is experiencing a #GlobalBoiling, not #GlobalWarming anymore. We from #AfterOil had a chance to present the "Tall Building #Decarbonization through #BioWaste to #Energy" concept without a Tipping Fee, which will be ready for implementation by this year if necessary. Creating a collaboration city involves developing an environment where individuals, businesses & organizations work together to achieve shared goals & overcome shared challenges. Here are some 7 key steps that we think can be taken to build a city of collaboration: 1. Having the same vision 2. Engage stakeholders, including local communities 3. Build infrastructure 4. Promote collaboration culture 5. Support innovation & sustainability 6. Facilitate networking 7. Establish Public-Private Partnerships Building a collaborative city is an ongoing process that requires commitment, communication & shared vision among all stakeholders. By creating an environment that encourages collaboration & #innovation, we can develop a city that drives #SustainableGrowth. #Cities | Tall Building #Decarbonization Tall buildings, especially commercial & residential contribute significantly to #CO2emissions for several reasons, including #energy consumption for cooking, heating, cooling, lighting & electrical equipment, etc. The energy used is often derived from #FossilFuels. Buildings are the cause of 40% of global #CO2 emissions. The taller the building, the more complicated it is to decarbonize. It bears repeating: If we don’t decarbonize buildings, we won’t solve the #ClimateRisks like what happened in New York City which accounts for 70% of #GHG emissions & ranked 3 in the #USA. Decarbonizing tall buildings is a critical aspect of addressing #ClimateChange & reducing the environmental impact of urban areas. The #ClimateSolution challenge in the cities of Asia Pacific that we shared in the previous post, is being present in Jakarta supported by Impact Hub Jakarta, #BAPPEDA #DKI, C40 Cities & CDP. To handle its share of responsibility in tackling the #ClimateCrisis & to achieve the Jakarta Government's #NetZero Target of 2030, the Regional Low #Carbon Development Plan (RPRKD - Governor Regulation No. 90/2021) comes with a holistic approach from the Government through working groups of Mitigasi & Adaptasi Bencana Iklim (MABI). So what should we do? #ESG principles can be applied in cities around tall buildings: 1) #Environment (E): reducing #waste & recycling through 'Waste to Energy', promoting energy-efficient & #RenewableEnergy practices, creating green spaces & #UrbanFarming, etc. 2) #Social (S): engage the #LocalCommunity to address their needs, prioritize occupants' health & well-being, encourage inclusive energy economic growth, etc. 3) #Governance (G): collaborate among stakeholders, promote transparency in the planning & execution, implement & enforce regulations, etc. If we can start implementing it in #Jakarta soon, then replicate it through C40 Cities in #AsiaPacific: Kuala Lumpur, Phnom Penh, Taipei, etc., and even in other global members from #NewYork to #Rome.
