Dewasa ini, dampak krisis iklim sudah dirasakan oleh semua pihak tanpa terkecuali. Dalam upaya mengatasi berbagai dampak krisis tersebut, seluruh komponen masyarakat melakukan beragam kegiatan solusi iklim yang tentunya membutuhkan sumber pembiayaan. Islam, dengan kearifannya mengenai tugas manusia sebagai khalifah di bumi, memberikan contoh nyata bagaimana masyarakat dapat turut terlibat dan berkontribusi dalam menjaga alam, termasuk melalui pendayagunaan filantropi Islam sebagai sumber pembiayaan aksi iklim. Sebagai bagian dari upaya berkelanjutan untuk memperkuat dan mendorong percepatan aksi iklim di Indonesia, Purpose telah melaksanakan dua penelitian pada bulan Agustus-September 2024. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur persepsi dan sikap komunitas Muslim serta para pemuka agama Islam terkait peran umat Muslim dalam mendorong aksi iklim. Penelitian pertama, yang dilakukan bekerja sama dengan YouGov, menyurvei 3.000 responden umat Muslim di seluruh Indonesia. Penelitian kedua, yang dilaksanakan bersama Tenggara Strategics, melibatkan lebih dari 100 pemuka agama Islam melalui FGD dan wawancara mendalam. Purpose, bekerjasama dengan FPCI Climate Unit, akan menyelenggarakan kegiatan diseminasi hasil penelitian dan diskusi publik yang bertajuk: "Climate Actions through the Eyes of Indonesian Muslims: Findings from a National Climate Survey among Islamic Leaders and Muslim Communities."
