As part of our mission to help society and the planet, we understand the importance of protecting biodiversity as what we’ve done here: https://lnkd.in/gVykFmYQ . MSIG Indonesia, as an insurance company, is always eager to take part in preserving our nature and securing our future. We all know that climate change is affecting not only humans but also habitats and species, with rising temperatures and extreme weather events adding pressure on biodiversity. Therefore, it’s important for MSIG Indonesia to liven up our mission by spreading the spirit of taking care of our biodiversity as our country’s priceless treasure. We believe that sharing this cause and knowledge with the younger generation is a great way to start this initiative. This is why we conduct a biodiversity fun class for students every year. This time, we invited MSIG Life to participate in our annual Biodiversity Fun Class with support from Yayasan GNOTA and Save the Children Indonesia. A workshop for employees who joined as volunteers was held at our Jakarta headquarters in June 2024 prior to the school visit. suryani amin— Climate Change Adaptation Advisor of Save The Children Indonesia — and Anggraeni Nazzla Prastiwi from GNOTA were excited sharing their expertise. Participants were brought to dive deep into the knowledge to understand the topic. They were also guided to deliver the message well for the children in a fun yet interesting way. As we shared in our previous post, a better education leads to a better environment. Equipping our generation, and preserving our future.

We’re back in Paliyan, where one of our communities is growing. This time, MSIG Indonesia organized a specialized financial literacy socialization for the 30 local farmers who are parents of students in the area. At first, “financial” and “environment” might sound distant, but this event is in line with our continuous commitment to supporting the Paliyan Reforestation Project. Led by Christina Ikarini from our Semarang Representation Office, we aimed to improve their understanding of insurance and its vital role in protecting their various activities. "We are dedicated to enabling the community through education," said Christina. "By equipping farmers with the knowledge to secure their activities through insurance, we contribute to the sustainability and resilience of their farming practices." Participants were introduced to the different types of insurance available and explored those they currently use or could potentially benefit from. They were empowered with the knowledge and tools to protect their livelihoods, thus contributing to the broader goals of sustainability and economic stability in the Paliyan region. We believe that better education leads to a better environment. With increased knowledge, we can better care for our earth.

Feeling appreciated is vital for everyone, as it enhances one's sense of value and self-esteem. In light of this, we expressed our sincere appreciation to our drivers who have provided excellent service to the employees and the company. Out of 13 drivers, Mr. Mardita Prasetiyaces was selected as The Best Operational Driver for Q1 2024. This initiative began with a survey conducted in April 2024 by the General Affairs Section to gauge Employee Satisfaction with Driver Performance. The results were used as a benchmark for improving the Transportation Management and the Driver Competency Development Program. We were pleased to see that all competencies were rated as Good and Very Good by the employees. We hope that this program will contribute to fostering a culture of appreciation and mutual respect among employees.

There are many things inescapable in this life. Like them or not, you have to face them every single day. “Risk”, for example. This is what makes us feel worried, scared, uncomfortable. So, there is no other way than to make friends with it, learn from it, and prevent it. Those are the reasons why we held the Risk Challenge Day. This program is an initiative by Risk Management and Actuarial Services of MSIG Asia and MSIG Indonesia’s Compliance & Risk Management. This event gathers every Head of Department to identify new risks and raise any increases or concerns in existing challenges. By having a one-and-a-half-day discussion, we aim to deeply assess relevant and significant risks for MSIG Indonesia and encourage all Department Heads to manage risks within their departments. After being delayed by the pandemic, we gladly share that it was successfully held last month at the MSIG Indonesia Office, Summitmas Building. Our Board of Directors — Shikato Takeuchi, Bernardus Wanandi, Bambang S. Soekarno, Soichiro Tsuchida, and Nurul Hayati participated in this event as the Observers to enrich the discussion. We believe that better and more well-prepared risk management would make a more satisfied customer. As one of our core values, our customer’s journey always comes first.

Our appreciation goes to Nurrachmi Putri Utami, a team member of the Dealer Leasing Section, for her accomplishment in receiving the “Simplification and Automation Award” as she succeeded in initiating a simplification process in her section. Nurrachmi developed 6 Robotics Process Automation (RPA) programs for various leasing partners from 2020 to 2023. At MSIG Indonesia, “innovation” is one of our core values. We encourage each employee to find a better way to improve the way we work for our stakeholders and customers’ satisfaction. This is why, starting this year, all employees are suggested to contribute to the company's business process improvement by initiating new ideas and implementing simplified processes in their own department or section. We aim to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual work by applying a simplified process and Robotic Process Automation. By embracing innovation and continuous improvement, we are committed to delivering exceptional value and service.

We believe that learning is a never-ending process for all of us. It’s not a matter of age and experience. This is why, on April 2, 2024, we pulled off a webinar called "Tips for Safe and Comfortable Homecoming (Eco-Driving – Tips for Homecoming, safely, and comfortably)" for our employees. Featuring M. Nur Arief from the Risk Consulting Section, an expert in Safety & Eco-Driving, the webinar was an insightful event for the employees. Nur Arief shared some simple but useful tips and strategies for safe and eco-friendly driving, ensuring a secure yet comfortable trip back home. The webinar also gave a shout-out to the three most engaged participants with souvenirs as a token of appreciation. This initiative is an example of our commitment to the safety of employees and the community, all while spreading awareness about environmental aspects of our daily lives. We hope this event can be a gentle reminder to drive respectfully.

Working in an insurance company might not come first when talking about everyone’s career dream. But, has it ever crossed your mind that an insurance marketer can be the right match for you? Not many people are aware that insurance marketers help someone’s life. If it’s a general insurance, the product and service vary to travel, house, and car insurance, 3 things that have been being discussed by millennials and Gen Z. At MSIG Indonesia, 2 of our 5 core values are “teamwork” and “professionalism” as you may find out more here: https://lnkd.in/g6pEWjhn We believe that respecting each other and growing together are important keys as an insurance marketer. Anyone can become a successful insurance marketer with perseverance and dedication. The insurance market potential is still significant, and the industry is continually growing, even during the COVID-19 pandemic. A set of requirements are settled for insurance marketers to ensure quality and competence, as they play a vital role in increasing education and literacy in the insurance industry. The insurance business is not just a job but a profession that allows people to help others while securing their financial future.

Did you know that Indonesia's general insurance industry is expected to experience significant growth by 2024? This is due to the ongoing expansion of the national economy, which is fantastic news for everyone. It shows that more people are willing to protect themselves with insurance, and this is a positive sign for the future. According to the Indonesian General Insurance Association (AAUI), property insurance, motor vehicle insurance, and credit insurance will remain the largest contributors to the industry premiums. This is due to the continuing economic development and the increasing issuance of new credits. Additionally, improvements in both commercial and residential property conditions contribute to this growth. This serves as evidence that a growing society plays a crucial role in the expansion of the economy. As we move forward, we can look forward to better growth in the general insurance industry in Indonesia this year. Let's take inspiration from this and work towards building a brighter future for everyone.
