"Health" is not enough; what we need is "well-being". Fortunately, this can be started through simpler, healthy eating, as demonstrated in our recent collaboration with Naluri. This month, MSIG Indonesia hosted a special webinar for our employees titled "Making Your Healthy Eating Simpler". We believe that this initiative will lead to increased productivity and a better work environment. The webinar also serves as a precursor to an upcoming weight-loss challenge that will run for about 2 months. Naluri is a digital health start-up company that focuses on improving the quality of life through a structured and customized program. Within the app, users can have consultations with experts, including medical advisors, dietitians, fitness coaches, financial planners, and psychologists. They truly support comprehensive healthy living, both inside and outside. The webinar hoped that participants find the right eating pattern, understand the importance of healthy eating, and apply mindful eating. Nabila Prasisti, a nutritionist from Naluri, delivered a fun yet insightful webinar for the participants. “We hope that this webinar works as a turning point for employees to start their healthy lifestyle,” said Mrs. Indri, Head of Administration Department. By implementing a healthy lifestyle, a better life-work balance would follow.

We’re honored to be part of Castrol Protect, an initiative launched by Castrol Indonesia on August 26, 2024, offering nationwide free personal accident insurance for motorcyclists. Our Vice President Director, Bernardus Wanandi, shared, "MSIG, as part of a leading general insurance group in Asia, is committed to supporting our customers' safety and well-being. This partnership is not only significant for the Indonesian market but also a strategic step for MSIG to expand our reach across Asia with like-minded partners. Locally, we support this program by providing easy verification, policy activation, and claim processing. In 2023 alone, there were 155,000 recorded traffic accidents (Ministry of Transportation, Republic of Indonesia, 2023)." We made it! Thank you for your continuous support and trust, we have been honored with the Market Leaders Award 2024 for General Insurance. This award was presented by Media Asuransi Indonesia at the Insurance Market Leaders Award 2024. Despite the slowdown in Indonesia's economic growth in 2023 compared to 2022, the general insurance industry in Indonesia saw a significant increase of 15.3% 2023 compared to the previous year. Specifically, in 2023, general insurance recorded premiums of IDR 103.86 trillion, a substantial rise from the IDR 90.12 trillion in the previous year. We consider this achievement a source of inspiration to continue advancing with innovation.

Small actions today lead to a sustainable tomorrow. Together with the Yayasan Sentral Rehabilitasi Mangrove and local residents, MSIG Indonesia carried out mangrove planting in Muara Gembong, Bekasi. This is a follow-up program as we started it last year. We understand, preserving our nature is a continuous effort. The mangrove forest along this coast has shrunk to just 600 hectares from its previous 10,480 hectares due to erosion! Mangroves are vital for our environment, society, and economy, making it imperative that we prioritize their preservation. This initiative is part of the company's commitment to achieving a zero-net-carbon emission by 2050. Let's not stop preserving our country's nature for the sake of our future.

As part of our mission to help society and the planet, we understand the importance of protecting biodiversity as what we’ve done here: https://lnkd.in/gVykFmYQ . MSIG Indonesia, as an insurance company, is always eager to take part in preserving our nature and securing our future. We all know that climate change is affecting not only humans but also habitats and species, with rising temperatures and extreme weather events adding pressure on biodiversity. Therefore, it’s important for MSIG Indonesia to liven up our mission by spreading the spirit of taking care of our biodiversity as our country’s priceless treasure. We believe that sharing this cause and knowledge with the younger generation is a great way to start this initiative. This is why we conduct a biodiversity fun class for students every year. This time, we invited MSIG Life to participate in our annual Biodiversity Fun Class with support from Yayasan GNOTA and Save the Children Indonesia. A workshop for employees who joined as volunteers was held at our Jakarta headquarters in June 2024 prior to the school visit. suryani amin— Climate Change Adaptation Advisor of Save The Children Indonesia — and Anggraeni Nazzla Prastiwi from GNOTA were excited sharing their expertise. Participants were brought to dive deep into the knowledge to understand the topic. They were also guided to deliver the message well for the children in a fun yet interesting way. As we shared in our previous post, a better education leads to a better environment. Equipping our generation, and preserving our future.

We’re back in Paliyan, where one of our communities is growing. This time, MSIG Indonesia organized a specialized financial literacy socialization for the 30 local farmers who are parents of students in the area. At first, “financial” and “environment” might sound distant, but this event is in line with our continuous commitment to supporting the Paliyan Reforestation Project. Led by Christina Ikarini from our Semarang Representation Office, we aimed to improve their understanding of insurance and its vital role in protecting their various activities. "We are dedicated to enabling the community through education," said Christina. "By equipping farmers with the knowledge to secure their activities through insurance, we contribute to the sustainability and resilience of their farming practices." Participants were introduced to the different types of insurance available and explored those they currently use or could potentially benefit from. They were empowered with the knowledge and tools to protect their livelihoods, thus contributing to the broader goals of sustainability and economic stability in the Paliyan region. We believe that better education leads to a better environment. With increased knowledge, we can better care for our earth.

Feeling appreciated is vital for everyone, as it enhances one's sense of value and self-esteem. In light of this, we expressed our sincere appreciation to our drivers who have provided excellent service to the employees and the company. Out of 13 drivers, Mr. Mardita Prasetiyaces was selected as The Best Operational Driver for Q1 2024. This initiative began with a survey conducted in April 2024 by the General Affairs Section to gauge Employee Satisfaction with Driver Performance. The results were used as a benchmark for improving the Transportation Management and the Driver Competency Development Program. We were pleased to see that all competencies were rated as Good and Very Good by the employees. We hope that this program will contribute to fostering a culture of appreciation and mutual respect among employees.

There are many things inescapable in this life. Like them or not, you have to face them every single day. “Risk”, for example. This is what makes us feel worried, scared, uncomfortable. So, there is no other way than to make friends with it, learn from it, and prevent it. Those are the reasons why we held the Risk Challenge Day. This program is an initiative by Risk Management and Actuarial Services of MSIG Asia and MSIG Indonesia’s Compliance & Risk Management. This event gathers every Head of Department to identify new risks and raise any increases or concerns in existing challenges. By having a one-and-a-half-day discussion, we aim to deeply assess relevant and significant risks for MSIG Indonesia and encourage all Department Heads to manage risks within their departments. After being delayed by the pandemic, we gladly share that it was successfully held last month at the MSIG Indonesia Office, Summitmas Building. Our Board of Directors — Shikato Takeuchi, Bernardus Wanandi, Bambang S. Soekarno, Soichiro Tsuchida, and Nurul Hayati participated in this event as the Observers to enrich the discussion. We believe that better and more well-prepared risk management would make a more satisfied customer. As one of our core values, our customer’s journey always comes first.
