☕ Innovating for Coffee Sustainability and Impact – Koltiva at the World Coffee Innovation Summit 2024! At the summit hosted by the World Coffee Alliance, our team—Manfred Borer (CEO & Co-Founder), Fanny BUTLER (Head of Market - EMEA), and Valeria Gálvez (Customer Success Manager)—had an incredible opportunity to expand their knowledge and connections. They explored best practices, challenges in gathering data for compliance, how #EUDR drives deforestation-free supply chains, and much more!    This summit allowed us to connect with diverse stakeholders—from public sector representatives to cooperatives. As highlighted by Valeria Gálvez, a memorable interaction was engaging with #cooperatives from Uganda, who visited our booth seeking solutions to ensure #traceability from smallholders in Uganda and to promote Ugandan coffee worldwide. We took this opportunity to share that we have a #globalteam spanning #APAC, #EMEA, #LATAM, and the #AMERICAS, with our Ivory Coast team ready to collaborate and meet their needs.      At Koltiva, we are one step ahead with our holistic solutions. Our traceability platform, #KoltiTraceMIS, and our #KoltiSkills extension service, supported by Boots-on-the-Ground teams, ensure seamless #smallholder engagement, empowering producers and fostering sustainable #supplychains.      Aligning with the summit’s theme, “Redefining Shared Value: Innovation Towards a Net Positive Future,” we are committed to building a net-positive coffee future, one solution at a time! ☕

⏳ EUDR Proposed Delay? What Does This Mean for Latin American Supply Chains?  Recent Update: The European Council has agreed to support the Commission's proposal to postpone the implementation of the #EUDR by one year. The Council will now notify the European Parliament, which is expected to vote on the proposal during a plenary session on Nov 13-14. After the Parliament's vote, the Council will need to formally adopt the regulation—a mostly procedural step. This offers businesses in #LatinAmerica a unique opportunity to prepare and align with the regulation's stringent standards. Use this time wisely to:    📍 Coordinate supply chain actors by collecting essential field data—such as GPS coordinates, polygon mapping, and compliance metrics—to confirm your commodities are legally sourced and deforestation-free.    🔍 Identify risks early through proactive assessments, addressing vulnerabilities before enforcement begins.    📊 Standardize and verify your data to ensure smooth operations and uninterrupted compliance.    ...and if compliance still seems unclear, join our BeyondTraceability Talks "Steering Latin America's Businesses Toward EUDR Compliance" webinar for practical insights specific to Latin America's challenges.    Mark the date!  📅 November 6, 2024  ⌚ 10:00 - 11:30 (GMT-5)  🌐 Language: Spanish  ✅ Register: https://lnkd.in/gqkHWBQ2

Our subsidiary, PT Kudeungo Sugata Indonesia, has secured funding from the TRANSFORM (Unilever, FCDO & EY) BESTARI Challenge 2024—an initiative to foster sustainable and ethical #supplychains that empower producers and improve livelihoods. This funding will support initiatives aimed at improving producers' livelihoods and market accessibility, with a focus on empowering #women and youth through the following goals: 👩🌾 Goal 1: Promote more inclusive involvement of women and youth in the production and marketing of fermented #cocoa by utilizing the Gender Action Learning System (GALS) to actively engage these groups in cocoa production, supported by field training from our dedicated Boots-on-the-Ground. 🌱 Goal 2: Enhance resource efficiency and reduce carbon emissions resulting from cocoa production by providing regenerative agriculture and #agroforestry technical assistance and establishing demo plots to show best practices. 💰 Goal 3: Improve producers' livelihoods through engagement with carbon markets and creating new, commercially viable uses for cocoa waste to help reduce carbon emissions. 🌎 Latin America’s #agriculture powers global markets—but at a steep environmental cost. While exporting billions in #coffee, #cocoa, and #palmoil, the region accounts for 44% of global tropical forest loss (OurWorldInData, 2021). Can it strike a balance between growth and #sustainability? The European Union Deforestation-Free Regulation (#EUDR) aims to block deforestation-linked products from the EU market, making supply chain transparency essential for Latin American (#LATAM) exporters. Without compliance, exporters risk restricted access to EU markets, financial penalties, and damage to their reputations, potentially jeopardizing billions in export revenues. But how can businesses overcome the challenges of achieving full #transparency? Join our BeyondTraceability Talks-Steering Latin America’s Businesses Toward EUDR Compliance on Nov 6th and learn from our experts, Manfred Borer (CEO&Co-Founder) & Silvan Ziegler (Head of Markets)—with more speakers to be announced: 🔑 Navigating supply chain transparency  📄 Practical steps for DDS submissions  ✅ EUDR risk assessments made simple 📖 Read more on our blog for in-depth insights and webinar details to prepare your business for compliance: https://lnkd.in/gX6jbX84

At the forefront of #coconut industry transformation, our Head of Sectors, Fahreza Hidayat, and Head of Market, Olivier Barents, joined global coconut leaders to discuss the future of #sustainable coconut farming at the recent Sustainable Coconut Partnership Roundtable 2024 in the Philippines. 🌱🥥  Key insights include:   🔑 Business Mindset: Smallholders often face challenges in managing farms as businesses, with trust gaps between producers and processors limiting productivity and market potential. #KoltiSkills Training and Coaching aims to bridge these gaps by fostering knowledge and collaboration. 📍 Geographic Fragmentation: Scattered locations limit government support and knowledge-sharing, isolating them from market trends and innovations.   📊 Regulatory Pressure: As expectations for responsible sourcing grow, traceability becomes essential. Producers and companies need to adapt, with tools like #KoltiTraceMIS helping them navigate these evolving demands. 📉 Data & Visibility Issues: Limited access to data and market forecasts leaves producers and brands vulnerable, which presents opportunities for change.  🤝 Supply Chain Collaboration: A transparent and collaborative approach is key to unlocking the full potential of coconut farming.  Our technology and solutions are tailored to create an environment where coconut producers gain the knowledge, trust, and support needed to succeed while meeting regulatory and consumer expectations.
