Recently, both companies donated to SD Inpres Lelilef in Central Weda, Central Halmahera, by constructing a classroom, ablution facilities, and providing study desks for the students. The handover ceremony took place on October 11, 2024, with the presence of Indonesian badminton legends Liliyana Natsir, Tontowi Ahmad, and Marleve Mainaky, who inspired the students to pursue their dreams. On the 1st of September, Sunday, we were privileged to open the new Safety Training Center situated at KM 17. This event marked a significant milestone, underscoring our steadfast dedication to safety. On 18th to 19th of July 2024, Weda Bay Nickel participated in the Data Network Dialogue Activities and Industrial Perspectives for Preparing a Decarbonization Roadmap for the Nickel Industry event, which took place at GAIA Hotel, Ternate, North Maluku. The event was organized by the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas in collaboration with the World Resources Institute (WRI) Indonesia. This was a follow up on the kickoff for the Preparation of the Nickel Industry Decarbonization Roadmap (as an input to the 2025-2029 RPJMN Draft) which was implemented on the 3rd of April 2024. The data and perspective pertaining from this event will be used to calculate the emissions of the nickel industry in Indonesia and become the basis for projections of technology, investment and policy needs that need to be prepared by the Indonesian government to increase the competitiveness and resilience of the Indonesian nickel industry on the global stage. #IndonesiaMining #WedaBayNickel #Nickelindustry

Weda Bay Nickel (WBN) Safety Team attended the First Aid Level 3 training which typically provides more advanced first aid techniques and knowledge compared to lower levels of first aid training. The Level 3 courses covered a wide range of topics such as advanced wound care, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), dealing with complex medical emergencies, using automated external defibrillators (AEDs), managing spinal injuries to name but just a few. The course was facilitated by the International SOS based in Jakarta, Indonesia. “The course provided us an invaluable opportunity to enhance our skills, build confidence and be better prepared to respond to medical emergencies in various settings around our operations, “said Jackson Awing: Safety Training Superintendent for WBN. He further added that, the training course proved to be both educational and engaging, leaving us equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to make a positive impact in emergency situations. #WedaBayNickel #SafetyMatters

Raymond Kosher Sianturi, Resource Geologist and Andri Sulistiawan , Geologist from Weda Bay Nickel attended the Competent Person Indonesia (CPI) Forum hosted under the theme Going Beyond: "Reaffirming CPI's Professionalism for a Better Mining Industry in Indonesia" which was held at the end May 2024 in the ANTAM Building in South Jakarta.   The annual forum is a gathering of geologists to discuss, deliberate and find common ground relating to the industry related topics but also gives them an opportunity to network with fellow colleagues and relevant stakeholders.   Geologists play a critical role in the successful operation of a mine by providing essential geological information and expertise that guides exploration, extraction, environmental management, safety practices, and decision-making processes. “Having our representatives attend the CPI Forum goes a long way in our organization as geologists’ contributions helps us to maximize resource recovery, minimize environmental impact, and ensure the sustainable development of our mineral resources here at WBN,” said Greg Cock: Deputy General Manager Geology for WBN. #IndonesiaMining #WedaBayNickel #CPI
