AGLP CKGSB 2024 Day 2 The second day of the ASEAN Global Leadership Program (AGLP) in Beijing, held in collaboration with the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB), began with a session led by Professor Edward Tse on "Thriving in the New Business Paradigm: Opportunities and Confronting Challenges in SOEs." This was followed by a conversation between Professor Tse and Mr. Ramon Cheng, former VP of SAIC Motor, exploring SOEs and China's economic model. Exchanges of knowledge and information are crucial for all of us. Managers from all over the world are increasingly interested in understanding how and why China works. China has become not only an exporter of goods, capital and technology, but also a source of knowledge on country governance and crporate development. Yesterday, I shared my views with a group of international managers in my capacity as a faculty member of Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business in Beijing. I also hosted a discussion with Ramon Cheng Jinglei, former chief engineer and CTO, SAIC Group and now chairman of his own company focusing on hydrogen. I was impressed by the many questions that the participants asked along the way. They were fascinated by the inherent logic behind Chima’s ability to grow economically and socially, and importantly in its ability to innovate and manage an economy that includes three crucial parts (SOEs, POEs and foreign invested companies). I am grateful for Daniel Wong ‘s invitation.

AGLP CKGSB 2024 Day 2 During the afternoon session of the second day of the ASEAN Global Leadership Program (AGLP) in Beijing, the participants learned about the Digital Transformation of China, presented by Professor Sun Tianshu. The participants then visited SANY Group, the largest Chinese multinational heavy equipment manufacturer, which has been actively expanding into new energy and intelligent manufacturing areas. The participants were given a tour of SANY's futuristic Lighthouse Factory, which implements advanced intelligent manufacturing technology. SANY's management also shared their inspiring transformation journey and achievements, including the company's progress and plans in Indonesia. AGLP CKGSB 2024 Day 1 In the afternoon session of the ASEAN Global Leadership Program (AGLP) Beijing, participants had the opportunity to visit Pony.ai, which has quickly become a global leader in autonomous mobility and is a pioneer in extending autonomous mobility technologies and services. SRW&Co. in collaboration with Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB) kicked off the ASEAN Global Leadership Program (AGLP) at the Beijing campus on Monday, November 4. The program commenced with welcome address from Daniel Wong, the Chairman of SRW&Co., and Dr. Li Haitao, the Dean of CKGSB. There was also a keynote address via video delivered by H.E. Djauhari Oratmangun, the Ambassador of The Republic of Indonesia to the People’s Republic of China and Mongolia. The morning session began with a presentation by Prof Li Wei on "China’s Economic Transformation and De-globalization", followed by a video address from H.E. Satvinder Sigh, the Deputy Secretary General for AEC (ASEAN Economic Community). The participants then engaged in an in-depth conversation with Prof Li Wei and Bapak Liky Sutikno, INACHAM (Indonesia Chamber of Commerce in China) Chairman, exploring the business relationship between Indonesia and China, as well as gaining insights into the experience of doing business in China. #AGLP #leadership #globalization #entrepeneurship #innovation #SRW #leadershipprogram #executiveeducation

CKGSB Associate Dean for Asia and Oceania, Prof. Li Wei made a working visit to Jakarta. It was Prof. Li’s first visit to Indonesia. During his visit, he met up with Daniel Wong, Chairman & Partner of SRW&Co.. Prof. Li also had the opportunity of wearing his first Indonesian Batik shirt, which he plan to collect more pieces. SRW&Co. and CKGSB will be conducting the ASEAN Global Leadership Program (AGLP) in Beijing from 4-8 November, 2024. The theme for the 2024 edition is: “Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Cutting-edge Insights from China.” The program will enable participants to engage with CKGSB’s world-class faculty and invited guest speakers to gain exclusive insights into some of the most entrepreneurial companies in China. The participants will also get an update on China‘s latest developments and its implications for closer ASEAN/China ties. The 2024 AGLP CKGSB edition in Beijing will bring a group of 35 senior executives comprising C-Suite and Board level from both the private and public sectors, including top policy makers and regulators from government agencies. It was deemed to be a very fruitful visit for Prof. Li Wei, helping to boost closer collaboration between CKGSB and SRW&Co. on developing and launching executive education programs for the ASEAN region. The fruitful partnership began in 2012 with the launch of the first AGLP Asia edition in Beijing and the last edition was conducted in Shanghai in 2019.
