We hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend! #TeamAlice is back in the office and ready for the (spooky) week ahead🎃 This week we're working on a local media campaign for National Tertiary Office to spotlight student voices who shared their experiences of studying a tertiary degree. We are sending a huge congratulations to Sarah Webb and The O'Brien Press Ltd on 'The Weather Girls' as it has been shortlisted for Children's Book of the Year (Senior) in the An Post Irish Book Awards. We were delighted to support Sarah on the launch of the book back in May. We hope everyone has a lovely Halloween, we will certainly be enjoying the leftover treats in the office this week! 🍬 #AlicePlaybook

Our client the Irish Architecture Foundation’s #OpenHouseDublin festival wrapped yesterday for another year and #TeamAlice hit the jackpot by joining a remarkable walking tour of the charming ‘rus in urbe’ Mountpleasant Square in Ranelagh. Expert on Dublin’s Georgian squares Susan Roundtree and local resident Trevor White from The Little Museum of Dublin entertained us with the history, while in a surprise twist, award-winning cookbook writer Susan Jane White lavished us with trays of homemade flapjacks. We heard about how a plan to build a filling station on the square was overturned after a campaign led by local residents. A great reminder of the might of people power, as well as about why this annual festival really is unmissable. #OHD2024

Good morning from #TeamAlice! With October disappearing so quickly, we have another full agenda this week - On Tuesday, Meadbh and Courtney will be at Croke Park to support the National Tertiary Office on their first National Convention where students from the first two years of the new tertiary degree programme will share their experiences with educators and policymakers. On Wednesday, Sorcha will be delivering PR training to The Housing Agency Ireland's communications network on how to communicate the positive impact of their work most effectively. And finally, on Thursday, Emma is joining Children's Books Ireland's October Artists' Coffee Morning to share some wise words and insights on how children's authors and illustrators can grab media attention for their new books. #AlicePlaybook

Dermot, Eileen and Meadbh were pleased to assist at the Association of Chief Executives of State Agencies in Ireland’s (ACESA), biannual conference late last week. The Association is a forum for Chief Executives of over 100 government agencies to discuss issues of mutual concern learn from each other and share knowledge so they can innovate and deliver for wider society. This year’s conference focused on ‘Delivering for Ireland’s Future’. The role of risk and innovation, Ireland’s competitiveness, achieving public value, and the impact of changing demographics and the climate challenge were among the topics on the agenda of the two-day conference. A special thanks to the AV company FastLane Audio Visual, Eoin Healy (Athlone Photography) who did the event photography, Sorcha Flattery for lending for time to help out and finally the fantastic team at the Sheraton Athlone Hotel for being so accommodating over the few days. #ACESA2024

Good afternoon from #TeamAlice! 🌞 We were delighted to be a sponsor of the GALAS LGBTQ+ Awards, which took place on Saturday night. The awards celebrate the work of individuals, companies and organisations who are helping to make Ireland a better place for the LGBTQ+ community. Some of the winners on the night included former Senator David Norris, who was presented with a Lifetime Achievement award and Bohemians Football Club was named Ally of the Year for its Pride on the Pitch project. On Wednesday and Thursday this week, members of #TeamAlice will be at the RDS to assist Building Change in hosting a first-of-its-kind architecture exhibition. ‘Constructive Interference’ is curated by architecture collective Rubble and will showcase work from the project’s six partner universities. On Thursday and Friday, Dermot and Meadbh will be at the Association of Chief Executives of State Agencies (ACESA) conference in Athlone. The theme for this year's conference is 'Delivering for Ireland’s Future' and will include a session facilitated by Research Professor Mark Moore from the Harvard Kennedy School. If you're looking for a new experience this weekend, the GORM Gathering is an event that unites community and industry leaders to celebrate and promote narrative change in the Irish media. The inaugural event will take place on Saturday, 12th October from 2pm at The Complex Smithfield. The Gathering promises to be a unique and groundbreaking experience for audiences mixing entertainment, education, and engagement to promote Irish creative screen talent connecting with local and underserved audiences.
