A brilliant session this morning at the GPTW Empowering Women at Work Webinar. This webinar looked at diverse aspects of women's workplace experiences and career development 🌟 Congratulations to Maja Brankovic from the HR team for speaking on behalf of Darta at this session, and for sharing her experience of growth and development within the organisation👏 Thank you Fania Stoney for giving us the opportunity to share our company culture - especially around supporting the women in our workplace, which is very important to us, and is confirmed by our Best Workplaces for Women certification! #greatplacetowork #bestworkplacesforwomen

"You can't plan out when an opportunity will arise.. It is about recognising when an opportunity is presented to you, and then taking it." If there was one quote that summed up the Great Place to Work® Ireland Empowering Women Webinar this morning, that would be it! I really enjoyed hosting the conversation with Renee Griffin of PepsiCo and Maja Brankovic of Darta Saving Life Assurance dac this morning. The above quote is directly from Renee, and I couldn't help but be inspired by her career journey, and the way she has grown throughout her time in PepsiCo, while also growing her family, without one inhibiting the other AND all the while championing the empowering of women within the organisation. I'm not sure there is anything she hasn't done !! Maja shared with us, amongst other things, about the phenomenal job she has done of taking her own experience of Maternity Leave and Return to Work - and codifying that learning into the lived experience for other women in her organisation. It is people like these that we need to raise the bar in organisations, and acts a good reminder that each and every one of us has a role in building the workplaces of the future, but also the ones that we want to be a part of right now. And as you can clearly see, it was very serious and we really didn't enjoy ourselves at all while doing it... Thanks to the team in Great Place to Work - and particularly Marina Rivas for the support in making this session a reality, and to our Great Place to Work community who turned up to listen and support. We are surrounded by fantastic people doing fantastic work - and it is a privilege to shine a light on it. If anyone has any ideas or anything else they would like us to cover, I'm all ears, so feel free to drop me a line. #greatplacetowork #bestworkplacesforwomen

  • Some of our staff attended the Aware 'Hope in Focus' exhibition last Thursday in the Royal Hibernian Academy of Arts. The series included portraits from Enda Bowe, featuring Aware volunteers and other familiar faces, aimed at highlighting the unique, yet universal experience of depression. This was a very insightful exhibition, highlighting the extremely important work that Aware do, and we were honoured to be invited.

  • We recently held our annual Flu Vaccine Clinic on site in our Blackrock offices ahead of the dreaded flu season. This service is always received very positively by staff, and it is one we are happy to arrange annually! The vaccines were administered by a trained provider through Laya healthcare, and staff were encouraged to avail of this service where possible. At Darta, we place a strong emphasis on employee health, which is reflected in our status as a an Great Place to Work for Health and Wellbeing ✅

We’re thrilled to express our gratitude to the fantastic #Smurfit MSc Human Resource Management alumni who took the time to engage with our incoming students at the Professional Development Workshop on September 3rd, 2024, at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. • We recently held a 'Kids Day at the Office' event, where staff had the opportunity to bring their children on site to see the office and take part in the numerous activities that were on offer! There was face painting, glitter tattoos, colouring, and balloon art for everyone of all ages to enjoy - it was a fantastic day for all involved, and was a great insight for the children to understand our work environment, meet colleagues and have a fun-filled day 🎉
