The second Animation Munster Project (AMP2) Cork City event was a great blast. We met with a whole crew of interesting people and learned a lot more about the hidden details behind stop-motion (mostly hidden glue and duct tape). And we are going to do it again... this time in Mallow. The event will be showcasing Munster's finest and regional growth. If you have any interest in learning about the animation industry and media education in Munster please come and network with us to find out more at this Mallow Arts Festival linked event. The short films will be age for appropriate for 12+, young adults and up. We encourage all sorts of a creatives to join us to learn more about animation in the province, including artists, sound engineers, actors, dancers, filmmakers, directors, producers, youth groups etc. We hope to see you there! Price: The event is free Venue: Hibernian Hotel, Mallow, Co. Cork Time: 18.30 Date: Sunday, 28th July

Glad you enjoyed it. Any tips and suggestions for next time are welcome!
I was delighted to have taken part in the Munster Animation/Createch Industry Event (Animation Munster Project) at the Pavilion in Cork yesterday. I was able to see some students and independent work from Clonmel and so on, showing work from 2D animation to stop motion. There was also a great discussion on how to keep animators and creators in Munster which was also interesting. Eimhin McNamara also gave a great talk about his involvement in creating the "wolfvision" in the film Wolfwalkers as well as showing his work, which was fascinating. I was also able to meet and chat with many new and interesting people at the end. The event was insightful, and I want to give big thanks to Michael Ledwith and the amazing speakers for making the event specular as it was and I'm sure it will help with my own work and others as well. #amp2 #mtukerry #animation #mtu #munsteranimationproject #animationireland #irishanimation

It's on tonight. Call over and say "hello"!
The Animation Munster Project (AMP) is returning on July 17 for more clips, short animated films, VFX work and talks. As well as meeting a whole crew of animators*. At the last meeting in February, we had "the talk" from seasoned animation producer Daniel Spencer, but this time we will have the talk from the wonderful Eimhin McNamara. Eimhin is an award winning animation artist, Founder and Director of Matchbox Mountain and lecturer in Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT). His specialities include stop motion animation, special effects and 2D animation. If you've seen Wolfwalkers from Cartoon Saloon, you will be familiar with the "Wolfvision" he and his team worked on where 2D and 3D animation collide. It takes a lot of work to achieve. https://lnkd.in/ezgMBdP8 Tickets for the event are available on Eventbrite https://lnkd.in/e5cb2WGu and take place at 7pm in The Pav, Cork on Wednesday July 17. *I checked, apparently the collective noun for animators really is a crew. You can read more about Eimhin’s work in Variety : https://lnkd.in/ehWseDdU
